Make me Emperor. I will mandate the necessary changes to fix all our problems. The few bureaucrats that are left working will do as they are told or be forced to eat Tofu. Raw.

I eat tofu... raw! What kind of punishment is that? That would be like telling a dog, 'Don't pee there or I'll kuddle you silly!'

Lol, no.

In the provincial election, he was steamrolled because of the faith based schools idea. In his attempts to gain a seat in the legislature, he was short sighted.

He actually did well in his bid for Mayor, but it seems like that caused the hubris that lead to his latter failures.

At least it would have applied to all faiths equally, ulike what the Liberals were actively defending and what the NDP was mum on. The only other party with integrity at the time were the Greens saying scrap the separate schools. The PCs and the Greens were going in opposite directions, but at least they were doing it with integrity.

What reforms do you suggest?
don't know Walter, I did not study political science, it is merely evident that the current system is not serving us. It is wide open to corruption and graft.

Yes by all the people who did study political science.

It isn't an issue of honesty. It is simply an issue of a very bad policy idea. He shouldn't have allowed that on the platform in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but I don't know why you are hung up on this "he was too honest" thing when his real problem has just been very poor choices.

There were screaming at Tory to abandon this issue, even I thought it was a terrrible idea, but he held firm. I base Tory's honesty on the fact that he didn't do what most politicians do. He didn't flip flop. I remember another politician back in the 70's who said he would have to raise taxes and was shown the door, his successor who said he wouldn't, raised them two weeks later at an even higher rate.

Some times we fall on our swords for standing by our convictions.

I don't think running would be a good idea. He should start out with a stair climber or brisk walks.

I think you may be onto something. Maybe do some laps in the pool, if he can find a pool that will hold enough water to float him! –
