Point taken.

Counter-point:

We KNOW the law is archaic nonsense, in fact it is not even law, as it is unconstitutional.

Meanwhile, in the Islamic world, people get sentenced to death for blasphemy.

Therein lies the difference.

They get sentenced to death in Gaza because they drive ambulances and attend schools.

Lol, I know. Sometimes I think to myself, wouldn't it be nice to work for the government; good pay, good benefits, good pension. Then I have to call an speak to someone who does work for the government (usually CRA, occasionally the city) and I realize that, no, I cannot work there. I would go mad and I would take everyone with me. :)
To make messes takes a politician. To really screw things up takes a gov't bureaucrat. :D

lol To mess things up takes a god (or gods). To really screw things up takes a religion.

Salman Rushdie Dares To State The Obvious: “Something Has Gone Wrong At The Heart Of Islam”…

The PC police won’t like this but it’s obviously true. Why leaders in the West won’t say it is beyond me, especially after a stupid movie trailer causes bloody riots across the Islamic world that are still going strong 10 days later.
(Reuters) – British author Salman Rushdie, who lived in hiding for nine years under a death sentence from Iran’s supreme leader, said in an interview published on Thursday that something had gone wrong at the heart of Islam.

Rushdie told Le Monde newspaper that his years fleeing the 1989 fatwa from Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini had forced him to pay close attention to a radicalization of the Muslim world.

“Something has gone wrong at the heart of Islam. It is quite recent. I remember when I was young, many cities in the Muslim world were cosmopolitan cities with a lot of culture,” he said in an interview published in French.

“For me, it is a tragedy that this culture has regressed to this point, like a self-inflicted wound. The Islam in which I grew up was open, influenced by Sufism and Hinduism, and not like the one which is spreading rapidly at the moment.”

The interview was conducted on September 12, just as a film mocking the Prophet Mohammad sparked violent protests across the Islamic world. These included a deadly attack in Libya which killed the U.S. ambassador and three embassy staff.

“There is a limit beyond which you cannot blame the West any more,” Rushdie told Le Monde. “Having said that, if there was the slightest sign that Muslim society was able to create an open democracy, I would change my opinion.”

Just because your terrorist buddies illegally use ambulances and schools as shields, doesn't make them ambulance attendants or students.

Yeah I'm forgetting that you can only be sure when you examine the remains, right. Your terrorist buddies are bigger than mine, your terrorist buddies are wickeder than mine, your terrorists buddies are the best of the worst. And you still complain about the trued scales? A world like Israel would eat itself in a few decades.

At least you didn't deny it, lol.

That's step in the right direction.

I don't particularly agree with "appeasing them" but I see no reason why they'd not be like most of the rest of the planet if other nations and religions left them to their own devices. Same for Christianity.
Those two religions are simply the most aggressive on the planet. But keep ignoring the similarities if you must.

lol you and your similarities. Lots of similarities between apple juice and urine, too, but when I'm thirsty I sure as hell ain't ignoring the differences. Similarities be damned. :)

Religious freaks are religious freaks, regardless of the religion. Stating numbers does not change that fact. In a lot of cases, the more passionate a person is about their religion, the more likely they are to be an extremist. For the members of one faith to bash another religion's members for perpetrating violence is foolish when some of their own religion's members have also perped violence.
Ignore the similarities if you wish, but it won't change the fact that people in BOTH religions do violence because of their beliefs.
And all this crap about blaming one or the other for this or that does nothing to solve the issues and it DOES promote more animosity between them.
