I'm sure tolerance existed before Christianity did.

Do you agree?

No, actually, I don't.

Xenophobia is a human trait......much worse in older societies, where most people never traveled more than 10 miles away from the place they were born, and never met anyone much different from themselves, and certainly never dealt with cultures apart from their own......and where every stranger, and especially groups of strangers, was a threat to life and limb, and where superstition was the order of the day due to extreme ignorance.

Not even close.

Quote Goreobsessed

'I believe we should be a proudly secular civilization, tolerant of all others.'

fixed

second best.

Now find me a few that don't spring from Christian societies.........

Good luck.

You don't, and therein lies the rub...I would never advocate for force to deal with churchy folk, so I have to hope that one day they wise up of their own accord...
Your back pedal aside, were the other questions still to hard, even after the Rev explained them to you?

You call those attacks?
Yes. Just because they were lame, doesn't negate that fact.

What a pussy you are...:)
I'm sure your limited perception skills caused you to come to that erroneous conclusion.

Interesting what passes for intelligent discourse on this board these days...:)
I don't find you all that interesting.

Fun.

But not interesting.

And it certainly belies your contention that belief destroys the ability to think...........
I'm pretty sure whatever Vanni believes in, is what's impeding his ability to think.

What a maroon...
Says the member that can't formulate a reasoned rebuttal.

Right - and that thread is just as intolerable as this one.
Did you even read a little further down, to see why I posted that link here?

Like I said - you and Bear make it easy for me to point out the obvious attacks.
How many times have you called Walter an astroturfer?

How many times have you used childish names, or posted silly pic's or gif's, to people with whom you disagree?

I'm not saying you should stop, your fained indignation, and hypocrisy makes me LOL for real.

DaSleeper is impressive in the fact he's successfully has trolled these forums for years and still remains a member.
DaS doesn't troll the forum, he trolls trolls.

You on the other hand, are a forum troll, hence the third nic, you run under now.

Same with Locutus. The rest of us just have to grin and bear it.
Here fill this out and file it with the Admin, after you get a tissue for your issue.

I don't think anyone takes Colpy seriously. However, the danger of extremist rhetoric is that it encourages acts by the lunatic fringe, on each side of this religious divide.
I don't take everything he says serious. But not everything he posts, is out to lunch either.

Worst post of the thread (even worse than the OP).
The OP was a link to a story.

Does that make all your cut and pastes, just as bad?

Thank you for some sanity in this thread.
Funny, I've only said virtually the same thing on these boards, a dozen times, if not more.

Can you just imagine what we would have to put up with if the NDP had won the election??????
A partisan hack chasing Loc around the board, bitching and whining about sore grapes and making up excuses, every time Loc posted an article highlighting NDP bungling, corruption and waste.

Got a guilty conscience?lol The story the link led to is as vile as Colpy's post.

Colpy here is a new poster boy for you

According to former European MP, journalist, and author Richard Cottrell, the Lord Resistance Army is backed by the CIA and Mossad.

The author of the blog aangirfan writes: "In Uganda, Joseph Kony is the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army, 'which is a US and Mossad-backed guerilla force.'" He quotes Richard Cottrell, a former European MP, journalist, and author of the book, "Gladio: NATO’s Dagger At The Heart of Europe," who wrote in an article in October 2011 called, "African ping pong: US plays both sides in Uganda":
"The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rampaging around Uganda is nothing more than a US and Mossad-backed guerilla force.

Its task is to destabilize wide areas of Africa rich in minerals like Uganda, ex-French and Belgian Congo, and Sudan.

Joseph Kony, the self-appointed leader of the LRA, ex-choir boy, brilliantly flexible break dancer, the new US terrorist poster boy, has been on the CIA’s books for years."

I too doubt there are any to be found, or at least none that are well documented, but it's a mistake to believe that Christianity is the source of the tolerance. Europe was Christian for 1500 years before anything like that came up. It's a relatively recent development and has more to do with the weakening of Christianity's routine hold on people's hearts and minds and the levers of power than with Christianity itself.

I haven't spoken with Rev in many years, please have whoever is coaching your troll-bluster update their database...

Not really sure to what questions you are referring, if I didn't answer them it's because they were too retarded to even consider...

As to what you perceive is a back pedal, I think that emancipation is the answer to the problem of rampant religiosity...

And this concludes my troll-baiting exercise, having identified who they are, I now know who to engage in a proper argument and who to disregard...

Thanks to all for your patience in this matter.

So calling someone an Asian who committed violence is slander because it tars them all-such as Hindus and Sikhs- with the same brush? Yet it would be fine to identify them as Muslims, even though not all Muslims "engage in this kind of behaviour". It's supreme irony that the old man ranting about Islam doesn't get the disconnect between what he's saying, and what he perceives as slander from the media.

Thumbs up for the laugh Colpy!
