This thread was about Farrah and her life. I was not a huge fan but I did like her at one time in her life and thought like many others she got the raw end of Hollywood.

It's turned into another trash heap of foul language for no reason.

So you didn't care what she looked like and who she slept with.

Is there any reason to always trash people with foul language.

She died a horrible death and one I would not wish on anybody.. Can we not give her a little Rest In Peace ?

Well said Francis. In respect of your post and for Farrah Fawcett, I'll hold my tongue.

You can't dismiss the jiggly-bosomed bit of fluff from Charlie's Angels though...
She did that pretty darn well too! I wonder how many millions of that one poster
she sold in the seventies...it's got to be a huge number!!!

The poster I could live with ... it was the gazillion distortions of it on chubby teen-aged boy chests that still makes me grin.

Farrah Fawcett was a supermodel at one time, and I remember seeing her years ago on a tv show called “Harry O”. She was in some movies and was at one time married to Lee Majors.

No, I think there *is* a reason. It's a certain poster showing his usual brand of harshly judgmental self-righteous insensitivity. Probably drives a Corvette, or aspires to. Somebody ask me why, please...

Hehe....geez Gerry you sure know how to make an entrance. You nailed it buddy. A little over the top perhaps...but effective.

Farrah Fawcett was a hot looking honey in the 70's when we were teenagers. To a 17 year old she was a vision of beauty. Fawcett's Story documenting her battle with cancer was very moving. Watching a loved one die of this horrible disease is not easy.

I'm sorry...is there a problem with disrespecting a person who has died, that others consider an icon?

It's not that you are disrespecting her, it's why you are disrespecting her. You claim she couldn't act - she could. You claim she was ugly - she was a 62 year old cancer patient. You're an idiot...not that that's a problem really. I like idiots, they make this place entertaining.

I can't figure out why the mods haven't put the kibosh on this warped obscene imbecile, but it's not for lack of trying on my part.

Someone started this thread because in all the hoopla surrounding Jackson, Farrah Fawcett's death was sort of lost in the shuffle. A figurative moment of silence, or of simple respect for a lady who had gone through agony in her last days. gerryh can't stand that, so he jumps in with the statement that Fawcett banged all the producers to get her jobs. Nice going jerryh, do you pull the wings off flies and microwave cats too. You've shown your true stripe....Take a day off for everyone's sake.

Why? How much "respect" was shown Michael Jackson? A lot of derogatory opinions.

This may be a little too subtle for you but M.J was not in the same caliber as Fawcett. From Jackson's weird naming of his children to him dangling one of his children out of a hotel window, to the strange goings on at Neverland, Michael Jackson was strange no matter how you cut it.

Farrah Fawcett received a lot of recognition for her work. She wasn't going to be another Kathrine Hepburn, but she did a pretty good job at whatever roll she was offered. It cetainly helped that she was drop dead gorgeous.

Farrah Fawcett came from the white era on Hollywood at the same time Black America was trying to re-invent themselves because of the new civil rights that they have fought for.

Farrah was in the entertainment scene for a short time.

I here that she was on Charlie’s Angels for one season and was dropped because she wanted more money.

It was Farrah’s body that made her famous.

In that era if you wanted a serious role you had to work the casting couch

Back in those days it was all about sex, drugs and rock and roll

She had the notoriety of a Marilynn Munroe.

Because of her type casting she was not considered seriously for any type of roles.

Michael on the other hand worked constantly since he was six years old.

He was a music idol and the King of Pop even through the molestation charges that allegedly happened on his Never Land Ranch.

Jackson was always in the news in good times and bad.

Unfortunately for Farrah, Michael died a couple of hours later so Farrah was pushed to the back pages.

Farrah didn't hide the truth about cancer. If only for that, her death made us a little more aware. To this day, MJ and fam are in denial of another of today's serious medical problems - addiction.

As well as being a rare beauty, she was a pretty good serious actress too. I don't know her film bio at all really, but I did see a flick years ago called The Burning Bed, in which she plays an abused woman who murders her husband in self defence. She was entirely believable in the role, did a good job of it. She won't go down in the records as one of the great actresses, but she was certainly competent, much more than just the jiggly-bosomed bit of fluff Charlie's Angels made her out to be. I agree, she deserves respect and remembrance.

I was just looking up her bio and remembered she was in The Cannonball Run and Logan's Run.. Probably where I would have remembered her most looking at all the other shows and movies she did.. Although I Dream of Jeannie surprised me but not the Six Million Dollar Man while married to Lee Majors..

Ah yes... The Six Million Dollar Man

"Steve Austin...a man...barely alive...we can rebuild him...we have the technology...we can make him faster...stronger..."

Great show and Farrah's role was remembered well.

You obviously have not watched any of her movies. Particularly "Burning Bed". You may have read the news about MJ but most of us did not. The only news I ever read about him was the sensational news printed on the front page of a newspaper like him dangling his child. Serious mental disorders tends to bring about cheap news. Yes he had talent and beyond that - he had nothing but a blank page. He could have had it all.

Gerryh, you've made your point...yesterday...on this Thread about a different
Thread. Now this is just Trolling and being a Jerk.

For those that haven't noticed, we're a Mod short, and one is off & traveling
for the next couple days, so that leaves one Mod who also has obligations
off-line.

Vanisle, I don't even know what to say about your sniping. Very public though.

We're a few mods short of a.....short of a....just what are we short of?

Good question. This Thread is about Farrah Fawcett, and lets keep it that
way. There are also several (at least three) Threads about Michael Jackson
for comments about Michael Jackson...and those comments can go into one
of those threads.
