Finite? The "environment" stopped making new oil?

Hey,look! Nature's pipeline blew a gasket and is leaking oil.

daily average is sufficient.
No, you don't want to base a cash expenditure of that scale on daily average. If you don't know more about the wind regime you could lose on the capacity, depending on the machine. Like any investment, you should be patient until relevant details are available.

You wouldn't invest in a farm if you knew the growing degree days were being compromised by hot spells that would fry the crops every 5th of August

The height of the turbine will be worked out later, the drag from different directions by landscape on the wind can be estimated pretty closely.

Speaking of landscape, do you have any hills on your nine sections? any ridges? any bush strips along fields?

That's what the $9000 in batteries that need to be replaced after 4 years is all about.

See now that is the kind of thinking that an energy system planner has to fight. You have moolah you say, You have so much that you are desperate to give it away? That would be like a federal or provincial government with so much oil that they can't wait to haul it out of the ground no matter what the expense and sell it quickly to whoever is willing to put some small amount towards replacement cost. Like the Conservatives in Ottawa and Edmonton for example. First you try to minimize the expenses of the new venture, then you look at alternatives.

Nooooo that is what is required in this little project if I want to self supply and sell the surplus.

Did you figure out how much I'd stand to lose over the 20 year life of the system yet?

I was a kid in the 40s and 50s and no my memory is definitely not faulty about the summer of 1958...........I lived in Victoria where it was even a scorcher and over 60 days straight with no rain. I would concede that mean annual temps might be a degree or two warmer now as our winters aren't as cold but the summer extremes are no hotter. As a matter of fact if you check the almanac for B.C. for the month of July 1941 (which I did recently) you will see a handful of B.C. towns set all time temp. records. I'm going to see what I can find.

Glad that you had a nice summer in 1941 and in 1958 in the South West corner of Vancouver Island.

That translates to the world?

Have you looked at the posts that show the number of records that are being set now? Thousands already thus year and that is just North America. The all time record for my area for this day was set in 1944. would not be so foolish as to claim that means it is not one Hell of a lot hotter this year.

We still haven't beat the 30's and majority of those set in the 50's let alone the Bronze Age.

No wonder that you cannot figure out the WPers. Obviously just looking at simple charts is too much for you.

I will say this for you, though. You do come up with some novelties. I don't think I have read of any otherdenier who cites the Bronze Age.

Or are you thinking of the temperatures around the smelting fires?

Why wouldn't ayone bring up the Bronze Age when it was 3C warmer without fossil fuel use?
Want to see a chart for the Bronze Age or is this another post you'll walk away from and not rely to?

We'll always have oil as long as animals keep dying! Does it occur to people they are burning their ancestors?

Have you checked the number of thermometers recording now, probably three times as many as in 1941!
