So what have you learned?

If it can't be done, it can't be done or I should dip into taxpayer moolah like I did for geo-thermal, have it paid for and put a some cash in pocket?

I really liked that Eco-Energy program.

Thanks for the free money suckers!

beaker has a point Pete.

I know it really doesn't answer your question, but it is reasonable.

There is a ponit to spending huge sums of money to only have to spend money in the end and lose money on the investment? How so? Why would I want to buy off the grid if the grid is supposed to be the source of all evil?

Did you start at the beginning of the challenge? How about you goad beaker into coughing up his like he was supposed to first, then i'll gladly post mine. I've been waiting a day already.

You know beaker right? The guy who says it can be done, said he'd prove it but has yet to show anything.

I'm not really interested in the adversarial nature of the discussion between you two.

As a person who lives in an area where wind power is being seriously investigated by the municipality, I'm more interested in your findings and the metrics you used to achieve them.

How about you wait for beaker and I'll post mine to counter and you can compare.
If you don't want to tip your hand, you can always PM them to me.

I'm genuinely interested.

If the municipality approves the amendment to the present by-laws, I would seriously consider installing a windmill, as well as solar panels. Which are currently prohibited in the

Unless you plan on using taxpayer funding like the former Eco-Energy program, you're better off to wait until efficiency and costs are more realistic. In the mean time take your money, go the bank, buy as many silver maples as you can and sit it out. When equipment prices drop and efficiency is there you'll be able to buy outright and still have double your initial investment as liquid assets. (tax free if you know the right silver buyers)
