Yeah, you have the freedom to have an opinion, unless your opinion is that you don't like to stand for the anthem. You don't have that freedom.
You do, indeed, have the freedom to have an opinion, and to express it. You do not, however, have the right to a job. Hence your employer may fire you if he doesn't like your opinion, just as he may fire you if you cold-cock your girlfriend in a casino hotel elevator.

You have every right in the world to have your opinion.

But.....anyone that has actually worked in a job knows that when on the job, you keep your political opinions to yourself.

When I worked Security and escorted the ambassador from Qatar, I didn't get to hold a protest over Qatari support of terrorist organizations, and telling him that Islam and western civilization are incompatible would have gotten me fired on the spot.

The right to freedom of speech is a defense of the individual from the power of the state, not their employer.

Do you have any idea how refreshing it is to have someone I can debate, agree with, and disagree with, without having to go over basics?

I bet as more and more players join in on the protest Trump will have a hissy fit because things didn't go his way. He should be concentrating on heath care and the budget right now. Cheers!

That mean all your trolling has come to an end and Colpy is the only one you will be chatting up from now on? No reply needed, implementation needed.

Here they are know as trolls.
Here is somebody collecting a check and it is in direct opposition to the first line in your post. How do Qatari Security Forces solve problems, they shoot the person and sometimes the rest of the group he is with.
Do you know who trains them??

I remember American opinions of draft dodgers too....
Is that when patriotism took charge over common sense?? It was also the last war where real reporters were let loose in the whole country. Do you know why that is??

There are 72 living recipients of the Medal of Honor. At some point, one of them will participate in a protest.

That'll be fun.
For who? Your wooden heart won't feel emotions

In the NFL, the league is not the employer of the players.

Similarly, in NASCAR, the drivers are signed by the teams, not the Association.
Perhaps the owners should be the QB. (have a few spares on the sidelines, just in case of serious injury)

Taking a knee is NOT their symbol. It has been symbolic of surrender and servitude for far longer than Black people have lived in the US and for far longer than the US has been a country. Maybe Black America should stop appropriating other cultures' symbolism. The traditional pose for christian prayer is to get on your knees thereby symbolizing one's submission to god. Muslims completely prostrate themselves in submission to allah.
When one is knighted, one takes a knee demonstrating their servitude to the King or Queen. Even in football it's an act of surrender, so to speak.

But hey, if Black people want to demonstrate their submission or subservience to the US, it IS a free country after all.

Yep, here's some black people demonstrating their submission or subservience:
