May i remind the lefties that those people are responsible for their own troubles? [/QUOT

Do you mean the people that tried to bring Democracy to their Dictatorship controlled Country?

The 2011 Arab Spring activism in Egypt and Tunisia inspired Syrian protesters to take to the streets in demonstrations against Assad's regime. Syrians voiced their unhappiness with the stagnant political process and were advocating for democratic reforms.

These protests did not go over well with the government, which responded with extreme measures including the kidnapping, torture and killing of protesters. Government troops began opening fire on civilians, who fired back in response.

Civilian rebel forces then began organizing and arming themselves to combat government violence, which led to government military powers destroying entire neighborhoods and towns. Combined, the rising tensions between the two groups created the current state of civil war.

Because the 'west' did not help these people in their fight against Assad that left an opening for ISIS to move in during the chaos, which is a whole other reason besides the world class drought of 2013, to want to get the f*** out of the country.

Canada has almost nothing to contribute to the military effort against ISIS and the bombing completely pointless anyway.

The very best you can argue is that the bombing campaign can slow ISIS down, but it will by no means stop it.

The proof of this is in the pudding, so to speak.

The allies have dropped thousands and thousands of bombs and ISIS is as strong as ever and in some areas has made gains.

And even if the bombing was working Canada has VERY little capacity to contribute to this bombing campaign in the first place.

What Canada should do is recall the bombers and contribute that money to Germany and affiliated Euros who are willing to accept these refugees.

That is a win-win for Canada.

The 'lefties' can feel good something is being done to help and the 'righties' can feel safe that more religious nuts won't be coming over.......

Canada does not need to spend money to build a wall to keep terrorist refugees out.

I hope you are just being a troll and will tell us you know/knew nothing of the 'Arab Spring Uprisings' even as they happened?

U.S. ambassador: NATO has no plans for military intervention in Syria. The UN says at least 9,000 people have been killed since initially peaceful protests against President Bashar al-Assad erupted in March 2011. Opposition activists put the toll at more than 11,000.

Why are 70% of these immigrants young males ?

neither report indicated that 70% are young males though, in truth, it would not surprise me if this is true as young males are generally more mobile that entire families - also Syria refugee camps are likelier to accommodate families so single males escape in order to find some means of support that they cannot find at home

since you are aware of this stat, what is your source for it?

refugee crisis?

horsebleep

the solution is for these people to STOP FúCKING KILLING EACH OTHER

in one of those BBC reports a Syria who spoke very good English said if he dies trying to reach the West he hoped he would drown because this would awaken more Westerners as to the extent of the crisis --- what the fool didn't address was, why the hell don't his own people stop killing each other and start helping each other rather than rely on the West and increase the burdens it already has?
