He did nothing wrong! How dense can you morons be? He checked the rules before he played and was given the ok. He is not guilty of anything. He also doesn't need to seek any kind of absolution. He's decided to "pay back", which i don't agree with, because of the optics that the small minded have turned it into.

That could be a matter of opinion, Gerry. The criminal code doesn't necessarily cover right and wrong, just legal and illegal. He COULD still be guilty of something ethically shaky. Whatever politicians of ALL stripes do is suspect!

No, he's not. He cleared the engagements with the ethics commissioner BEFORE he signed up for them.

That still doesn't preclude people from being allowed to have differing opinions. There's a lot of so called legal, ethical sh*t that goes on in politics that I don't agree with.

If you're going to accuse a man of something illegal, or something that could cost that man his job, it better be a hell of a lot more than just "opinion". You either put up or shut the fu ck up.

He never stated it was illegal. What you fail to understand is the ethics and MP's - Like oil and water.
They cover each others ***.
Tell us why Justin is returning the speaking fees. After all it was legal.
It was cleared by their so called ethics rules.
Splain that one?

You have a habit of taking a Members posts and twisting them.

Bad grammar. No caps for before. You are into proper grammar.

Already explained. If it went over your head, that is not my concern.

It's called accenting. It's one way of showing voice inflection when writing in a forum.

What a moron.

You don't get it. Politicinas don't run the country. Bureaucrats have more power and run the day to day business of the country, but not even they are in charge. They are the second in command, the politicians are only there to give you the illusion of government, of democracy. There is no democracy and you do not have a choice in who runs the country. The parties are owned, like professional wrestlers, they put on a show to entertain you. Nothing more.

Nobody in this forum realizes that sad fact .

This scum bag never did say he would give the money back unconditionally!
He only said he would work with the charity to make it right!! That does not mean he is going to give it back unconditionally!!

But the other thing this scum bag did, is that he did not travel on his own time nor did he give speeches on his own time.
He did most of this during regular office hours. Like most Canadians we get paid for being at work during working hours. This scum bag was was collecting his pay from the taxpayer but was using his regular time to earn more money for himself while getting our tax money!!

In fact he often missed Parliament House sittings so he could travel to his speaking activity. Earning two salaries at the same time at the taxpayer expense is pretty good eh!!

And WTF do you think you are? I can accuse anyone of anything I like...................if it costs him his job then I guess the accusation was justified. As far as I'm concerned I can criticise anyone I feel like as long as my taxes are footing his/her salary. Unlike you Gerry, I don't give political stripes a free pass.

As far as I know you have the same freedom of speech I do.

Thats good. So you won't be whining when I make unsubstantiated accusations against you or decide to call someone a cu nt. right?

I don't have any problem with that, Goob. Maybe it's grammatically incorrect if you want to abide by the Queen's English, I use the same thing to emphasize something and I think most people understand the rationale.

I'm not sure whining is quite the word and although I can't prevent anyone from calling someone a c*nt, I'm still allowed to state it's in bad form in some circles.
