I knew most of that stuff about JC 20 years before Zeitgeist came out. The information can be found in hundreds of books going back to the 19th century. Jesus may or may not have existed but the Christ entity is definitely an amalgamation of many different characters and ancient gods. The problem doesn't lie with the bible but with the literal interpretation of metaphors, allegories and myths.
I trained in Anthropology. Anthropologists look for stuff like that, so an absence of supporting artifacts is very conspiciuous.
Blue cheese is yummy. Same for extra sharp cheddar or havarti. =)
Then you run into something like Proverbs:8 where the message tells you to pay attention and then pretty much quotes part of what is said in the NT about listening to instructions if you like being alive. The odds of somebody finding those words today are someplace above zero, having a lot of them alters that opening number. I'm impressed and I can explain why, you aren't impressed and your reasons are shaky at best.I knew most of that stuff about JC 20 years before Zeitgeist came out. If the doubting Thomas story wasn't included faith through reading a book would not be possible as believers back in the days of the NT has people who could do signs following which includes healing all illnesses just by touch and a few other things like getting people to come back to life once the flesh starts to stink. If you saw those things for yourself and you remained a non-believer you might not be making the right decision. Consider this 'lack of proof' you mention. If you found some would that 'ruin' the faith by reading part that we are supposed to be in at the moment?I trained in Anthropology. I looked at the topics and thought it might be interesting to check out. I should have known that it was a mistake. Gave up reading after 2 pages, so I zipped to the end. I guess this is the one that will never be settled and no one's mind is ever going to be changed. All I can add is my God is a God of love.
Starting about 3:30PM on 'that day', until that time not such a great day for a whole lot of people. All I can add is my God is a God of love.
It carries in down to the sparrows so what is your question? In the story of Job the one who was tormented by Satan was given more rewards by God that those who suffered no hardships. Perhaps you can relate to the chapter about getting old. The grinders are teeth and the back of an old man is bent and the windows are the blind eyes of an old person. The grave doesn't seem so scary once you can do 1/2 the things you used to be able to do.I am sorry that you had to ask the question about love and he'll. I have suffered from several mental illnesses for many years. I am on permanent disability pension (CPP). A have tried to commit suicide. Been in the psych ward so many times I don't know. Had ECT a couple of times. I have 2 children, 3 grand-daughters and another grandchild on the way. In a loving relationship. My world seems like crap a lot of the time but I have made it through today.

Man made hell. Nothing at all to do with divinity.Have you looked at the world around you son? Where's the Love. More like Hell.
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17 NKJV)
Is that the coming night alone or every coming night?Faith does not need a particular doctrine or dogma to be valid. Whatever gets you through the night...
for me the Bible is that voice and it is pretty detailed in what it is saying
Yes, MHz. Some of God's people are more auditory in their perception while others are more visual. Some of this is determined by the education method(s) applied during our formative years. We can perceive God through all of our senses since we are physical beings living in a physical environment created by Him. The Artist is evident in His work.
Is our perception of God merely physical? How/why do sentient beings fail to recognize the Messenger/misconstrue the message?
One of the kids perhaps. But I'm not famous. Loads of people love to collect the items of famous people. Even porn stars sell their dirty panties to fans. lmaoWho will save you comb?

If I saw weird shtt like the tales in the Bible contain, I'd be wondering how they happened, not standing (or sitting) there with a stunned look on my face gibbering about miracles. If you saw those things for yourself and you remained a non-believer you might not be making the right decision.
huh?Consider this 'lack of proof' you mention. If you found some would that 'ruin' the faith by reading part that we are supposed to be in at the moment?
The proof you are seeking is supposed to be available again for 1260 days before decision time has any real consequences.
I'm sorry your god allowed all that to happen to you, but I am glad you pulled through it all anyways.I am sorry that you had to ask the question about love and he'll. My aim is to make it through the day. I do believe in a God. However, I don't take the Bible, word for word. A lot of the writings were done from words that had passed down and put to paper many, many years later. It also is not written in chronological order. I do think it serves a purpose as being a guide as how we should live. I do not believe in a heaven and a hell that God is in charge of placing us due to our behaviour. I think that we humans make our own heaven and our own hell.
