Were your husband's and brothers' missions UN missions as well?
Yes they were
Were your husband's and brothers' missions UN missions as well?
Yes they were
So, are you proud of them for serving the corrupt UN? Your words, Post #61.
When have we ever been attacked by anybody but the US??When has the Canadian military ever done anything to protect Canadian sovereignty?
The UN certainly helped the US invade a number of countries since 1990.I still believe that the UN is still corrupt and should be dismantled!
WW 2 a Japanese submarine shelled the lighthouse at Estavan Point on Vancouver Island .When have we ever been attacked by anybody but the US??

That would leave the security council members to divide up the rest of the countries as part of their group, more abuse than what the past has brought to their door.
It would be easier to make a few changes, such as taking away the veto vote the security members now have and have any action be taken by citizens of those countries just do diplomacy is given all possible chances first. Move it to Jerusalem and let the Jews take a swing at being a world power by making them the military, economic advisors for all the nations that are not part of the security council members.

I am proud of them because they were in the Canadian Forces; the UN had nothing to do with that and they didn't have a choice when they were assigned overseas.
I still believe that the UN is still corrupt and should be dismantled!
So what's your point?
Dix
You should be proud of them. You will find many servicemen are not fans of the UN, but quite proud of serving their country. Unfortunately, that means doing some things which you'd rather not be involved with - like doing UN duty.
So 'no' is the correct answer.WW 2 a Japanese submarine shelled the lighthouse at Estavan Point on Vancouver Island .
So 'no' is the correct answer.
I knew little detail of those incidents but was aware there was U-boat activity in the St.Lawrence .During WWII, German U Boats sank 23 ships in the St.Lawrence river and Gulf if St. Lawrence Including the Corvette HMCS Charlottetown-10 dead and the Armed Yacht HMCS Raccoon-37 dead, no survivors. The most notorious was the sinking of the Porte aux Basques to N.Sydney ferry, SS Caribou with 137 dead including women and children. There is a new Canadian warship (AOPS) under construction in Halifax right now that will be named after a hero of that sinking, HMCS Margaret Brooke.
It's not as important as the Estavan light, I know, but little stuff like this still has some memory way out here in the Mysterious East.
No not really , I know of the incident so I posted it . If you want to be condescending , have at it .Bodies were washing up on the shores of the St.Lawrence River.
Out on the West Coast, the REAL outrage occurred when a Japanese Sub surfaced, fired 25 shells, missed, and then disappeared. A few days later, Canadian authorities figured out what had happened.
It was an OUTRAGE!

From shells fired at the lighthouse?? Worst aim ever. It appears it still is an outrage.Bodies were washing up on the shores of the St.Lawrence River.

. . . or at least has not in several decades that we haven't been at war with anyone.so the correct answer is that the Canadian Forces has nothing to do with protecting Canadian sovereignty , or at least has not in several decades.
I would argue that the wars we fight also have little to do with Canadian sovereignty.
so...12?All those wars ... We can count all the wars that we've fought with the fingers of two hands.
The military will always exist to protect the sovereignty of the nation by force of arms. The entire era of 'peace keeping' was inextricably linked to globalism in trade and culture. It was deeply damaging to the moral and capabilities of the Canadian military and obscured its primary purpose. It was imposed on Canada as totems of gooey 'multiculturalism' by chickenshit post nationalist PMs like Mulroney, Chretien, Harper, Justin. It deserves to be ditched as ineffective internationally and destructive nationally.
OH NICE LIE-beral propaganda there! Just a charming stab in the back to blame Harper or Mulroney for peace keeping problems! There was no `peacekeeping of significance in the Mulroney years and it was Harper that made up ALL the deficiencies in equipment for the Afghan mission started by LIE-beral Chretien!
The duplicity of LIE-berals is STAGGERING!
