What I find amazing is that the rest of the world watched while the U.S. bombed to death a couple million in Korea, a couple million in Vietnam, a million in Laos and Cambodia and have now directly, and indirectly, have caused the deaths of a million Iraqis with no official complaints from the rest of the "free" world.

Well, Vietnam was a huge mistake, with Laos and Cambodia as sideshows to that......

I don't think it is fair to blame the US for "indirect" killings that result from sectarian violence they seek to halt, and I doubt the one million number, but all that is fit for debate......

But KOREA!!!?????

A quick glance at South and North will show how much the USA (with UN help) did for South Korea...........the critixcism here is way out of sync with any reasonable approach.

South Korea was attacked.
The UN mandated a response.
The USA carried the vast majority of the fight.
Millions of South Koreans have been spared death by starvation or gov't murder, and given the opportunity to develop into the prosperous democratic nation they are today.

BIG Kudos to the USA.

That is stupid statement. Canada didn't kill a million Rwandans.

Isn't what I said SO STUPID. Isn't it?! I agree... it was a stupid statement it response to YOUR stupid statement.

It was said with no base of fact... I twisted it... I increased the death toll to make it more colorful... I placed full blame on Canada...

JUST like you place every blame on the US without base of fact... twisting of facts... made up statistics... and imaginary death tolls to grind more on the US.

What you don't seem to get is that 9/11 happened in New York City, which by the way is part of the U.S., and on U.S. soil.
The group responsible for the attack is/was based in Afghanistan. They do not represent any country and that is what makes it so hard to find them. Afghanistan, is like the old west, no real central goverment to negotiate with. That leaves only one choice we go there get the terrorist personally. The United States is a part of NATO and according to their charter we were attacked. Bottom line is some of you really are insecure as was pointed out to me. Guess you have forgotten about the 25 Canadians just sight seeing who were killed.

hmmm. Is that the "unique" brand of American hiastory poking it's nasty head up again.

Please read my latest post. I created a bit of "unique" history to coincide with Juan's "unique" Canadian history.

From where to you pick your justifications? Glue?

The same place Juan picked his.

Why can't I? Turn about is fair play is it not? If people want to act silly and post silliness then I feel entitled to post my own silliness.

Maybe the rest of the free world understands more than you, Guess it is just natural to take things out of content.

At least you know you won't get any whitewashed reply(in the belief that an honest assessment it needed or the repair job will note really fix things., especially one saying you are so nice the whole world should just it all up just for you.

It isn't like your fingerprints are just found here and there they are found everywhere. That you have a spy-agency says you can and will operate behind lies about your enemies.
Little Johhny comes homes from school all bloddy and roughed up, his Mom askes is everything went okay at school? Little Johhny replies, damn mom you are just soooo suspicious of everything I do! and stomps off full of indignation.
In Canada we originally had these things called government watchdogs. They didn't make/cost much and all were there because they had an interest in who they were watching. Odd thing, the more active the dog the better and more efficient the Gov ran (overall and all things great and small considered). As that group stopped, or were subverted into stopping the Gov got worse and worse (fairness to their employers the tax-payers), which was part of the whole plan anyway.

Supply your own statistics then, but in such a way that they can be independtly verified to be truthful documents. Cause I said so only works in face-to-face meetings.

For five-year-olds ... maybe. My bad for not reading the entire thread. Yours for resorting to the rediculous....:p

Well sometimes it is important to get down to the level of some of the posters to prove a point. To show them how ridiculous they sound by giving them some of their own medicine.

Do you think I am new to this forum? Any opposing stat or fact would be most likely ignored. A month later the same post of...

"Americans killed MILLIONS..."

... would be brought out again.

Same ol', same ol'

Sometimes, it helps to end the day on a positive note. Today’s positive note: there is another head of state besides ours so experienced in yoga that he, too, can insert his foot completely in his mouth and yet continue to talk. Meet Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper who officially greeted the Dalai Lama in his office in October (a diplomatic no-no, since the Chinese government hates him). Asked to explain himself after the furor, he said, “I met the Dalai Lama in my office but I meet everyone in my office. I don’t know why I would sneak off to a hotel room just to meet the Dalai Lama. You know, he’s not a call girl.” Bush may have terrible pronunciation, but he never compared a meeting with a religious leader to one with a prostitute, eh? [Reuters]

So which one stuffed his foot in their mouth. Harper or the Dalai Lama? OR was it a "foot race"?

Harper's an idiot so I'm not surprised

The fact that the allied forces in Afghanistan are realizing today that after all this time they have not been able to put a dent on the Taliban, is due to the poor understanding between the NATO alliance and the West.

Although war sucks, right from the star the Forces should have been 3-4 times then that of the Taliban, That did not happen, the forces were out numbered by the Taliban, being that NATO did not commit equal man power to start the job on the right track.

NATO from the start was not convinced that a war in that region was justified and that was the primary reason they did not contribute equally.
So, to day we find that the Afghanistan war squandered young men and women for very little result, while all these men and women died in vain.

Please Soc... not a dent? The Taliban was in complete control of Afghanistan. The Nothern Alliance own a sliver of the north. Now the Taliban is squashed into Pakistan, completely out of power and comes out to take a couple shots here and there and get trounced each and every time.

It's like Vietnam II ... and a lot of us were called down for even suggesting it in 2003.

I'm calling you down in 2009. It isn't even close.

In 8 years of war there have been about 1000 Coalition deaths... in Vietnam there would have been close to the total count of what 54,000.

Again... Canada probably lost about 1000 on June 6, 1944... was that Vietnam?
