Oh like fer sure dude. Because the 1000 people that were polled obviously speak for the entire 35 million population. That's an average of a whopping 77 people per province and territory that were polled.

But hey, keep on fluffin'.

You're right, the polls are probably wrong.

It's probably nothing.

Harper will just call another election in June.

They're only trying to do what is popular with the electorate, as opposed to Harper who was trying to do what was right and feasible! :)

We need more population and we did our part creating the refugees. It's a win/win. We benefit economically and we do what's morally right.

Like did what?

Importing a few refugees properly is more important than importing a large number.

Heck, only 5% of those interviewed over there even want to come to Canada so hopefully, the 50,000 will end up being less. Having said that I would prefer to see Christians, women and children be chosen - the young men can stay there and fight - we don't need the hassle of them (misogynists) trying to change our way of life like they're doing in Germany, France and Britain. I don't want to see "no go" zones in our cities.

Right, because historically Christians have shown themselves to be such a tolerant bunch. As for "no go zones" they have pretty much been shown to be a right wing anti-immigration invention.

Can we trade you for a handful of Syrians?

First off, I haven't seen nor heard of any "Christians" beheading someone because they don't believe as Christians do nor have I heard of any "Christians" hanging gays or lesbians. While there may be some "Christians" who don't agree with homosexuality, opinions are allowed in a free society. Are you saying that just because the attackers were Muslims/immigrants, they're to be treated differently than if they were Christians, Jews, agnostic etc.? Why? Assault is assault no matter who commits the crime or are we to have a two-tiered system now BECAUSE they might be Muslims.

Secondly, the "no go" zones are not a right-wing anti-immigration invention - talk to the people, as I have, who actually live there and they'll tell you it's quite real so don't comment on something you know nothing about.

The fact that so many people have their heads in the sand is truly terrifying. I suppose that's how it was when the Nazi's came to power too.

I'm not saying that we stop the way we live (although it could come to that - it has in at least parts of 3 countries so far). I'm just saying that we need to be AWARE of what is happening around the world and, especially in Europe and learn from it.

It is said that history shouldn't repeat itself but I'm afraid that society is so self-centered now that as "long as it's not us" everything is fine. That is being extremely naïve at best and dangerous. It brings to mind a famous quote:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

You've not heard of Christians beheading people? I suggest you take a look at the history of Christianity. Beheading people, including other Christians was a time honoured Christian tradition. As for the persecution of GBLTs there are literally hundreds of recorded incidents every year in Canada and the USA. But you are right abut one thing, singling out a particular group as if it is the only one carrying out hate crimes is definitely wrong.

Try Googling no go zones and you will come up with a plethora of right wing hate sites. However, there seems to be nothing out there on reputable news sites.

And your
Niemöller quotation is taken completely out of context. No Muslims are coming for anyone in Canada.

I saw bonafided Syrian refugees coming home from the office today. They were hanging around their hotel.

Why are they downtown Vancouver? Why not somewhere cheap? There are interior hotels without any skiing around that would love the business.

I have no doubt they are all fully equipped with parkas and mittens now that they are here.

They can go work in Whistler and take jobs from Aussie illegal aliens.

You have to love the moronic apologists. Christians beheaded people in history, lol. Gay bashing in western culture is on par with state sanctioned murder.

If you didn't read it in their own words you wouldn't believe they could be that stupid, lol.

He was also a drunk who couldn't get it up.
Kinda makes you wonder how he fathered three children, don't it?

You can always tell when they have no idea what they're talking about, because they slip into passive voice. "It is said. . ." "It is reported. . ." "Things were done."

FGS! You people who keep bringing up what happened in ancient history are a sorry lot! Are you trying to say that because Christians did bad things a century or so ago it's okay for the Muslims to do it now? That's ridiculous!
We all know how barbaric ALL religions were in the past. And we all know that they evolved and became peaceful - EXCEPT THE MUSLIMS!f
Try looking at what is happening in the world TODAY, not away back when!

Can't. It doesn't quite fit their narrative.

I didn't know the issue was about narrative. Silly me, I thought it was about the reality of what Syrian refugees are doing in their adopted countries and are likely to do here.
I saw Mercedes Stevenson on tv ask the Liberal Minister point blank if they had no concerns about the New Year's rape incidents in Cologne and she got nowhere. He deflected the question and went to praising the refugees.
Clear case of denial and propaganda by the Government!
