Poor foolish, muddled, greedy LIE-berals!!!!!!
They are so often wrong and get caught out being greedy and selfish so very often!!!!
They are so focused on grabbing gravy using their carbon crap and trade tax scam that they IGNORE real options for aiding the environment!!!

Just when you thought Canada’s nonsensical world of oil and gas policy couldn’t get any worse, consider this little nugget of lunacy. The federal government is actually funding anti-oil research activists. Yes, your tax dollars at work.
If you visit the federal government’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s website you’ll find a document that lists grants awarded in 2015, including one for $2.5 million over six years that will fund “mapping the power of the carbon-extractive corporate resource sector.”
(LIE-berals would have NO policy if they were forced to be logical at all times! LIE-berals deplore the power of corporations- and then turn a blind eye to the civil service union Hog OWNERS of that corporate stock!!!! No LIE-beral wants to know how much stock is owned by civil service union Hogs!)
The Applicant is William Carroll, a professor at the University of Victoria, and his university contributed $730,000 towards the project. Thus, we’re looking at more than $3 million of public funding, plus staff time from participants from other universities.
Ironically, Carroll’s group, which includes reliable anti-oil organizations such as the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, is investigating “who is steering fossil fuel extraction in Western Canada and what influence do they wield?”
(GOSH! It takes $3 million dollars for LIE-berals to figure out that most of the oil we buy is produced by companies based mainly in United States? And who drives this corporate activity? Why- WE ALL DO!!!!! Anybody who buys gasoline for any reason, anybody who eats food harvested by diesel powered tractors or eats food delivered by diesel powered trucks is fueling this corporate activity! And anybody who uses natural gas for heating at home or work along with anybody who rides a diesel powered public transit bus is also fueling the fossil fuel industry! And LIE-berals expect to get $3 million dollars worth of FACTS from this CRAP? Or are they merely BUYING votes from environmentalist airheads?)
Presumably with a straight face, someone posted on the project’s website that they aim to conduct a “systematic mapping of how the carbon-extractive industry is organized — which companies are involved, who runs them, who owns them and how they connect to broader international corporate networks.”
(But with NO admission of civil service Hog involvement! LIE-beral policy is spinning in circles like turds in a flushed toilet here- on the one hand they desperately need Hog votes in order to cling to power and on the other hand Hogs are demanding MORE GRAVY- which we do not have! One way of reducing the pressure for more gravy is to encourage higher rates of return on stocks owned by Hogs- but killing the oil industry will hurt Hogs- but it WILL DELIGHT airhead environmentalists- thus two faced LIE-berals try to be all things in contradictory circumstances while we pay the price!)
If you peruse a few of the posts on the site, the bias against Canada’s energy industry is evident.
(Yes- it is amazing how hypocritical the Hogs can be- they badly want others to use less fossil fuel- so Hogs van use MORE!)
However, as researcher Vivian Krause has carefully pointed out, the real power players and influencers in Canada’s energy discussion have actually been powerful environmental groups that have received millions of dollars in foreign funds.
For example, the Tides Foundation in the United States has been funding groups in Canada to obstruct our pipeline projects. Without Canada building pipelines to the coast, our only real export option is to continue to send our product to the United States — a country that has been taking advantage of our lack of alternative buyers by paying Canadian companies less for our oil than what they pay other countries.
(And of course LIE-beral policy is to drive up the price of oil- using carbon crap and trade taxes- to the point we can no longer use oil! Gosh it must irk LIE-berals to see Yankees getting a real deal on Cdn oil! And how come Our idiot BoyJustin has not pointed out THIS Yankee deal in his NAFTA talks? It seems like Our idiot Boy Justin is SERIOUS about killing the Alberta oil patch- which means he is FULL OF CRAP regarding the future of the Kinder Morgan pipeline? It`s all just more LIE-beral lies being flushed in the Cdn political toilet!)
The whole situation is essentially economic sabotage.
(Of course it is SABOTAGE! Yankee LIE-berals want us to cut back our carbon foot print so there will be room for their production! And in the larger picture- if Cdn oil production is cut then it makes Yankee oil production MORE VALUABLE! Yankees are quick to condemn Cdn tar sands- but happily IGNORE tar sands in La Brea California and in Venezuela! LIE-berals also IGNORE the reality that Cdn environmental regulations are tougher and better enforced than in most countries! Hypocrisy and double dealing are the LIE-beral rule of the day!)
And before someone accuses the Canadian Taxpayers Federation of taking huge cheques from “big oil,” that’s unfortunately not true. Though we would gladly accept them if they were ever offered.
(Yeah- Tides and other Yankee super pac groups are way to busy funnelling money to socialist airheads like David Suzuki- who happens to own half a dozen houses and has a HUGE carbon foot print thanks to all his happy travelling! Suzuki is a classic LIE-beral who holds to a carbon rich lifestyle while lecturing the rest of us who already have smaller carbon out put than he does!)
While Carroll’s group is focussing on the industry’s “power,” the irony is that the oil and gas sector has actually been losing the fight. Ottawa refused to allow the Northern Gateway pipeline project ($8 billion), they killed the Energy East pipeline project ($16 billion) and the $36 billion Petronas LNG project in British Columbia fell through as well. As many readers know, the Trans Mountain pipeline project in British Columbia is currently in disarray.
(In fairness it seems likely that the Kinder Morgan pipeline will eventually be built! Our idiot Boy Justin is facing an election in 2019 and he will be counting up potential votes VERY CAREFULLY to determine whether he should build Kinder Morgan or kill it completely! Our idiot Boy has told us he wants to kill the entire Cdn oil patch- regardless of the lost jobs and tax revenue- but clinging to power at any price is a priority for him so he may reverse himself! Currently construction on the now Cdn tax payer owned pipeline is FROZEN and will likely stay that way till after the next federal election at which point the new govt will restart the work!)
Now consider this — how would Ontarians react if Ottawa funded a similar project to look into the immense power of Southern Ontario’s auto industry? What if Ottawa funded a project to look into Bombardier’s immense influence over government? Needless to say, the reactions would not be positive.
(WE can state with absolute certainty that Cdn opinion on Bombardier and its cozy relationship to LIE-berals and LARGE govt grants- is offensive to Cdns- we have only to look at the public reaction in 2017 to that billion dollar grant federal LIE-berals offered up even as Bombardier FAILED to produce TTC streetcars as per their contract with Toronto Transit! Things look even worse now as 67 of the approximately 90 streetcars that were delivered are now heading back to the shop for major frame repairs due to crap welding jobs!)
To be clear, if people want to examine Canada’s energy sector, go for it. But there’s no reason why taxpayers should have to pay for such advocacy.
If anything, Ottawa’s research should be focussed on the immense amount of money that’s rolling into our country from abroad, and obstructing Canadian companies.
(Oh yes- LIE-berals have NO desire to check up on the amount of foreign money going into our housing industry! And they certainly do NOT want to look into the amount of dirty money being laundered at Cdn casinos! LIE-berals are so desperate for gravy that they are happy to have the sales tax on housing bought by foreigners; just as they are happy to collect the income taxes from casino workers who are inadvertently helping launder dirty money! With LIE-berals it is all about GAIN- here and now- and tomorrow can look after itself!)

Plastic straw manufacturers are going to keep on making straws when they are banned or when restaurants refuse to buy them? That would be a mighty poor business decision.

You have to be extremly stupid to believe that plastic straws have any bearing whatever on this planets environment However you could just drink from the container instead of sucking.

Such action would include tightening immigration, increasing the number of deportations of criminals, and greatly increasing inspections of cargo coming into Canada with the intention of intercepting a lot more smuggled guns and drugs!

Is that the same type of plastic money is printed on? If not they should switch as that stuff seems to last longer than some Empires.
