We can argue about the necessities of one head of state bowing to another but I don't see how a sign of respect to your host is ever a bad thing.

Obama may or may not be much of a president in the long haul but building friendly relationships with other countries isn't a negative thing and thus far, on a personal basis it appears to be something the Obamas are doing quite well with.
This is quite a contrast from Bush, with his shoot from the hip; shoot first, ask questions later style. Bush made plenty of enemies, he (and because of him, USA) was disliked over most of the world.
Obama is trying to undo some of the damage done by Bush, so of course we would expect the right and the far right to bear down hard on him.
That people seem to need to poke at this as a weakness is unbelievable.
