The shoe incident was serious, from a muslim point of view. It showed a man's frustration towards an arrogant president who, along with his cronies, was responsible for blowing the crap out of his country. It is a high form of insult in that country. From my point of view (and I do confess a certain fondness for the Three Stooges) it was hilarious. Too bad he missed. For the record, I'm not Anti-American. Just call em as I see em. I have just as much respect for our own PM.
As far as Obama's greeting of the Saudi king, I'd suggest it's a bit "small minded" to allow this to become so overblown? Let's move on to more important issues.

Northern Ontario,
Re #43.

DaSleeper, you must learn something on these posts:

If you ever display any sympathy, whatsoever towards those damn Yankees, you are a traitor to Canada. (Maybe some of the Super-Patriot Canadians who will - inevitably accuse you of treason - will tell you why it is not TRAITOUR).

I've been there. I'm glad some of the posters here are not the passport office.

Just remember: to be a Good Canadian you MUST BE an Anti-American.

Not my words or intentions. Theirs.

Yukon.....I don't take myself or forums that seriously....:p

Further White House releases will be available as they are issued.

Yukon Jack, again, who cares? It is only the rabid Obama haters who seem to be obsessed with this thing.

Mt_pockets, I don’t think the mainstream press is obsessed with it. I looked at CNN webpage just now, the story appears nowhere on their front page. The mainstream press reported it and has moved on.

It is the far right press (maybe FOX is still reporting it, I don’t know), and extreme right wing bloggers who are obsessed with the story. But then they do need something to talk about Obama, 24/7. So it is to be expected. This makes a good complement to their obsession that Obama is an illegal alien, a Muslim terrorist who should be imprisoned or at the very least deported (to Indonesia, Kenya, anywhere but USA).

"It is only the rabid Obama haters who seem to be obsessed with this thing."

The so-called rabid Obama-haters are but mere pikers compared those low-lifes who collected Bush gaffes, ridiculed the man day after day, month after month without offering a better solution.

How about the even lower lifes who are besmirching Sarah Palin and any and all members of her family, regardless of age or gender?

How about those even lower lifes who want the rest of the world follow their credo that the walking pear (or perhaps, more appropriately the walking purple eggplant, you know Michelle) is the most glamourous woman in the world, and you don't believe that you are a racist bigot?

Let me assure you: no one is nearly as obsessed with denignating, debasing, humiliating and ridiculing Obama as the Bush-hating low-lifes were. And STILL are.__________________________

Sorry, Yukon, but Bush is no longer the President (thank goodness). Whining about how he was wrongly trashed by his opponents will get you squat.

Now you have to defend your and other far right bloggers’ criticism of Obama.

The farthest thing from my mind would be to defend any criticism of Obama. He deserves all the criticism and some.

Defending him would be your not very enviable job, because he deserves to be defended upon nothing.

lol... that's almost as lame as 'shrub'.

Sure that is tame, karrie, but that is the favorite sobriquet the far right likes to use for Obama supporters, which is around 60% of Americans, as of now (I don’t consider myself an Obama supporter incidentally; he is too conservative for my tastes).

DaSleeper evidently frequents the American extreme right websites. Obamaton is a favorite word over there, it is not original with DaSleeper (but Obamaphile is original with me).

Re #91.

What do you mean "As if"?

Are you aiming for the Guinness Book of World Records for shortest response in a thread?

Re #92.

I missed it before it was deleted. Curiousity is killing me. Was SirJosephPorter repentant or was his post booted?
