It is wrong for Obama to bow before a Saudi.
But it is perfectly natural for Bush to kiss and to hold hands with him:

Since you are the one that expressed concern over encouraging immigration from certain areas of the world, I would suggest that this is a case of the pot and the kettle.
The question is not why something so insignificant can become so ill perceived but rather, was it insignificant. As of yet nobody has made clear Obama's intent.
Why does he have to?
To me it meant nothing other than a freindly gesture.
why should it be so complicated?
America has spent billions of dollars and many lives protecting the oil dynasties in the Gulf region, why not accept the true nature of the relationship?

He meant it as a cowering gesture by an infidel, and admittance of defeat in the war against terror. Nothing more, nothing less.

BTW, we learned that it was NOT a bow, after all. The following explanations were given by that most erudite and coherent White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs (in the midst of uhm's and ahhh's):
1. The President was admiring the Kings shoes.
2. The President noticed a clump of camel dung on His Majesty's sandals and wanted to call attention to it.
3. The President just kissed His Majesty's most Royal hand.
4. The President just wanted a closer look at the cowboy belt buckle His Most Royal Majesty wore, given to Him by George W. Bush. (Could have been a DVD od an Ipod).
5. His Royal Majesty needed to ascertain that the President's ears were just as elephantine from the back as they are from the front.
Further White House releases will be available as they are issued.
