It's a really weird situation. Christy Clark asked for dissolution, which the LG decided against. I think Clark is right when she says the legislature won't work as it is now and although Clark didn't want to own it, that implies an election. But conventionally it's not really the right way to go. We kinda have to go through the whole "give the NDP a chance" thing, even though we know it won't last long.
In a minority situation with more than two parties, the executive asks the largest party to form the government, and if that doesn't work, she asks the next largest if they can. Sometimes, things get so bad that the third largest party gets asked. People are getting all bent out of shape because the NDP doesn't have the most seats, but that's not how the system works. The Liberals were given a chance and they lost confidence.
