Ain't NAFTA grand?

Not particularly, as you know.

When we protested, demonstrated, and generally made of ourselves, pains in the ass, we were told that NAFTA would bring us untold paroxysms of great joy, and JOBS JOBS JOBS.

Then we were told that , if elected, NAFTA would not fly, so we elected them, and they signed on the line.

Which brings us to today.

Unfortunately, the feces have yet to hit squarely on the air conditioning. When they do, we, as good sheeples, will go back into our pastures, and hope they don't slaughter us; at least not all a once.

Armed insurrection will only result in Canuks killing Canuks; but, there's always those who will be gainfully employed, even happily employed to be the torturers and slaughterers. Think China, Argentina.

So, would you say we're fukked?? How do a people go about wresting control from the truly rich and powerful - those who control the fingers on the triggers. It might behoove us to find out in the next few years, or sooner.

just sayin

maybe this should be moved to "off topic all the time".............end of rant.........for today.

:joker:Oh yes indeedy. Riding herd on grandkids once agin. I get 10% of the take.:blob2:

hey JUAN!!! What's with eating those Hershey products from Mexico??? That's where they went when they pulled out of E. Ont., throwing about 450 people out of work.

Even the jerkoff stores here stock the crap now. How soon they forget!!:cwm10:

It's become a tiny personal crusade to gently remind folks of the greedy corporate idiots who did their part to ruin a few hundred lives. Nothing like the former NEP, or the "big 3" meltdown in Windsor. Just something to be aware of. Or not. Hooooooocares?! Right?

I'm not going to get too carried away about this. If someone else isn't doing it to us, we do it to ourselves. Harper has put us another
fifty or sixty billion in debt bailing out American auto companies. Back to the topic.

I'm not going to delete the off topic post, but would invite Nuggler or anyone else interested to copy it into a new thread for a rousing debate on NAFTA. Please let that be the end of the commentary on the issue.

I nominate banning fun! No wait that isn't right. Ok no candy for kids, just homework and everyone over the age of minority gets two days to be drunk at work. No wait we already have a Christmas party. How about this, November only gets 13 days and July and August get two weeks just to goof off. Kids can dress up but none of that yelling business. Now get off my lawn!

Our volunteer fire dept. does a halloween party for the area. Actually anyone that wants to is welcome no matter where they are from. We have a haunted walk, games and food and fireworks as well as a bonfire.

Is that why the chocolate hershey bars taste so much better here
Trick or treat has invaded England (shame it has ousted "Penny for the Guy) but what the hell - its great fun for the kids and you must go with the flow. The last few years I have dressed up and sat at my doorstep waiting to scare the living c**p out of the kids. They love it and so do I. You're a long time dead so enjoy what simple pleasures w have left.

Every celebration have a kind of risk, deaths, etc. If we ban everything, next step will be not leaving the house!

Exactly right Christiane, the answer is to take the time to do things properly. As you get older you realize this- when people are young (and should have all the time in the world) they tend to rush things and become careless. When we are older (and life expectancy is down to about 15 minutes) we tend to try to do fewer things but put more planning into them so they work out. If you have fun doing something and it's not harming others, go for it, but just be careful.

To bad some have destroyed the fun Halloween used to bring children. It used to be a fun day, some years I managed to bring home 2-3 bags of goodies. Shame on us for letting it get away.
