Yes, it is absolutely absurd to expect the owners of a business to take any responsibility for the way the business operates.

As absurd as it is to try to find scapegoats where none exist. And I understand BP is taking responsibility for its actions. But if you think that BP stock holders should not receive the dividend, you have two options. Pressure BP into not giving the dividend. Failing that, get government to pass a law forbidding BP from issuing dividend (see where that gets you).

B.P. has no excuse not to pay it's shareholders (they earned $4billion in the first quarter) they also had no business in running a $50 million ad saying what nice people they are.:smile:

you quote my tongue-in-cheek 'report'.

Then you go and mention some examples of some marital infidelities by conservatives.

Do you really want me to mention marital infidelities by your liberal heroes?

I save you the embarrassment, because I really don't think you want to go there.

No, I don't have to worry, because BP stock will be worth very, very little when they get taken over after the carcass is beaten around. I would expect either ExxonMobil or RoyalDutchShell will wind up with the bits. I don't think you'll have to worry about dividends.

It is quite possible that BP may be taken over. It all depend upon how the crises plays out. But I would be equally happy owning Exxon or other shares. Anyway, if I don't have to worry about the dividend, if there isn't going to be any dividend, then why the insistence that I give dividend back?

I don't see any sarcasm in trashing Gore, I didn't see any sarcasm there, you sounded quite serious. And trashing Gore for getting divorce is pot calling the kettle black, considering how many Republicans have had multiple divorces and how many have been involved in sex scandals (both

There's another BP oil spill? - Shhh!! says BP, the Bushs' and Their CIA a Federal Judge Finds Out

By: tyler durden

In one case, BP's CEO of Alaskan operations hired a former CIA expert to break into the home of a whistleblower, Chuck Hamel, who had complained of conditions at the pipe's tanker facility. BP tapped his phone calls with a US congressman and ran a surveillance and smear campaign against him. When caught, a US federal judge said BP's acts were "reminiscent of Nazi Germany."

Amazing what phoniness, duplicity and lying can accomplish!

Here we are, for years we thought that Spike Lee and James Cameron were only directors of movies of questionable merit.

Now, it is finally revealed that these two worthies are only masquarading as movie directors while they are in real fact, oil drilling experts.

With their expertise, America is finally safe!

BP bankruptcy ahead? Rivals 'licking their chops'

Some have wondered whether BP can financially survive the disaster in the Gulf. Sure, the oil giant is a diverse, international money-making machine, but the Guardian reportedhttp://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/yn...s/2010/jun/07/bp-deepwater-horizon-costs-soar Monday that BP had already spent $1.25 billion seven weeks into the oil spill, with no clear end in sight. The company will be dealing with an avalanche of lawsuits for years (a New Orleans attorney told me she expects that some local law school grads will spend the bulk of their careers working on spill-related cases) and the company's stock recently nose-divedhttp://us.rd.yahoo.com/dailynews/yn...36455082/SIG=10np72351/*http://yhoo.it/dboMrA.
