You see what you want to see. I see the courts interfering with what should be a parental decision. If she still wants to change genders when she reaches legal age and can pay for it herself then let her have at it. Next some court might decide what church you must send your kids to. Think of the larger implications than just one kid.

The mother approves, as the parent has to because he's under 16. Considering the mother has custody (which says more about the father than just an objection to their son being who he is)...

The issue with 'waiting' is that, as Trans, blockers are pretty much useless once someone's older, and for Trans women especially, passing is one of the bigger issues. Trans men do pass easier than Trans women past puberty. With blockers in place until HRT can truly start, Trans women don't develop the more visible male characteristics which increases their likelihood that the dysphoria won't be so bad later in life.

This where it starts getting tricky with government involvement in personal choices. There are some people that like cradle to grave socialism because they don't want to think for themselves. I'm more concerned on setting limits on what government, elected or appointed can inflict on the people that pay their saleries.

Then why the hell are you against the rights of this kid?

After all, the kid is thinking for themselves. The courts only got involved because the father is being an asshole and would rather see his kid die than live.

Pubescent hormones have nothing to do with the gender decisions for a 14 year old?

Considering a Trans person is born Trans, the only thing the hormones do is make the dysphoria worse because the body is changing in opposite to what the Trans person's gender really is.

Blockers stop that change from happening too soon, to give the child a chance to figure things out.

Really I'd think people would be for the blockers; it keeps "people who aren't Trans" from being so and figuring out if it truly is "just a phase", or perhaps figuring out their gender fluid or something else.

What are you babbling about? There's two genders, evident at birth male and female- there is no other gender in normal society. For thousands of years there were two out houses and no problems! :)

Perhaps to avoid confusion, we should start calling ourselves PSPHs (potential semen-producing humans) and POPHs (potential ovary-producing humans) just to avoid confusion with trans 'men', 'women', 'wolves', 'coyotes', 'rabbits', and 'jackasses'.

No, there are two sexes. I get that ignorant twats don’t know the difference between “gender” and “sex”. That’s why smart people make fun of their idiotic ramblings

They are interchangeable when you are discussing one of the two sexes, or one of the two genders.

Two 'sexes', different genders.

Yes, because people didn't really care what hole you shit in, so long as you shit in one.

For thousands of years, Trans people have existed, were even revered by some societies. Too bad ours isn't as advanced as those ones.

So you'd push people who are sterile to being... what? All because they can't produce eggs or sperm?

Now who's being too involved in the personal lives of people?

We are just replicating DNA. For all our claim to intelligence, we end up with stupid conversations like this one. When you take into consideration the size of the Universe, we are pretty insignificant. The only thing we have is an inflated ego that thinks it is intelligent. This forum is proof the opposite is true.

I think "sex" is an act while "gender" is an entity. When people ask what sex you are they really mean what gender! JMHO.

A person who's sterile still had the potential at least at birth to eventually produce one or the other or used to have that ability at some point in the past, or at the very least possesses most of the component parts to produce the one or the other.

A Trans person still has the potential if they so choose it. It really depends on the extremity of the Dysphoria and if they want to go through the process of having a child later or they don't really care.

There are lots of Trans people who have children.

So that negates your point a little bit.

According to the usual thought pattern, a 'woman' who impregnates her partner is a man and a 'man' who becomes pregnant is a woman.
