Such as your self-declared "intelligence" coupled with your derision of anything and anybody you disagree with?
You're projecting again yj.... that would be YOU, not Ton.

Delusions?

That's not what I said, I was arguing that the existence of such misery is evidence against the deity's existence. How do you blame something you say doesn't exist for the misery of children under 5?
I don't think so. Anybody likely to enter a thread titled as this one is has almost certainly seen some of my other posts on the subject of religious belief.I think THAT perhaps may be a little presumptuous...
Yes, anyone regardless of their intelligence can be deluded. This is such a simple and obvious statement that I find it hard to believe that anyone could have any questions.
Self-declared, where did I ever declare that? In fact I'm of the opinion that the more one learns, the more humbled they should be by what they don't know. Knock it off troll.
That's not what I said, I was arguing that the existence of such misery is evidence against the deity's existence.
Natural selection is not helter-skelter, you don't know what you're talking about here.Such as the human brain developed helter-skelter, without a design, by natural selection?
Most digital cameras are engineered a good deal better than the human eye. A camera designed like the human eye would have the sensor facing away from the lens, with all the wiring that connects it to the camera's electronics in front of it.Such as the simple fact that it took mankind several thousands of years to develop a poor imitation of the EYE? You know, in digital cameras.
There are perfectly satisfactory naturalistic explanations for those things.Such as the wonder of the Grand Canyon? The Canadian Rockies? Such as the love a parent has towards his/her offspring?
Utterly irrelevant. The number of people who believe something to be true has nothing to do with whether it's actually true. When over 85% of the population believes that there is a GOD, the deniers, such as yourself, are the REAL trolls.
You like being butt fu cked by preachers?I just love it when people like wulfie68 try to put God on the same level as humans.
God does not "micromanage" anything. he puts us here, gives us the basic rules, and lets us "do our thing". If we don't follow the rules, then we pay later.
And the number one rule for any Christian must always be, "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you".
They also have a tendency to forget exactly what they are asking God to do, when they pray the Lord's Prayer. They forget that they are asking God to forgive us, EXACTLY AS WE FORGIVE THOSE THAT HAVE SINNED AGAINST US.
Think about it, that's a pretty powerful statement. If we can't forgive others, then we will not be forgiven. It is really that simple.
Christianity is not at all complex, Jesus laid it out in very simple terms. Love your God above everything else, and love your neighbor as yourself.
You like being butt fu cked by preachers?
I love my neighbour but her husband isn't all that keen on it.

I grew up Catholic and was never butt fuc ked by a preacher. Were you?

It's God's job to intervene? That's not what I said, I was arguing that the existence of such misery is evidence against the deity's existence.

I don't know for sure if there is a God or not. Or if this life is all we get. The only thing I know is that it is going to be some goddamn funny if Gerry is sitting in heaven and Tonnington is down in hell talking about global warming.
Delusions?

If natural selection is not helter-skelter, give us the reason and the explanation why not. If there is anyone who doesn't know what they are talking about is you.
The much ballyhooed digital camera eye was designed by someone with a human brain. But we all know, of course, that that brain was designed and developed by some force known as natural selection, which - if it was so great - would not have required millions of years to manifest itself. So, there is your perfectly satisfactory explanation.
We all know that in your world, anything and everything you disagree with is "utterly irrelevant".
I figured you as the one most likely to raise that argument. You must therefore believe that this god created humanity flawed, knowing how things would turn out, and he let it happen anyway, when he could have just made better people in the first place. That argument doesn't get him off the hook, as the designer and builder of all this he remains responsible for the consequences. If he's surprised by any of this, he doesn't have the characteristics usually ascribed to him, if he exists at all.No it doesn't, it supports the contention that God gave man the right to choose. It is mankind that chooses to allow these children to suffer and die. It is mankind that chooses to go to war with one another over trivial inconsequential things. None of what is happening on earth to and by mankind is God's "fault". It is all our own.
But we all know, of course, that that brain was designed and developed by some force known as natural selection, which - if it was so great - would not have required millions of years to manifest itself.
