Lol, that was not my original post and it was even directed at you.

That doesn't mean diddly! You're in a FORUM not on PM.

This is the post you are looking for.

Yes that is another post where you asked about his credentials.

Double Fail!

Lol, how can one be accused of not wanting to answer and overcompensating at the same time? You might need to pick an angle here.

Clearly you are overcompensating by bringing up racism just because the President is an African-American.

As of late... all Presidents and Presidential Candidates have had to answer for their past in one form or other.

This seems to be your exact line of thought with you questions about if I have black friends or not.

Nobody wants to be the idiot going around saying "I'm not racist, some of my best friends are black".

I bet you've used that haven't you. lol

Lol, wow.

All I can do is share a real saying with you.

“Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

― George Carlin

Whatever it is you think you are doing here, I certainly have no interest in trying to outdo you at it.

Interesting... usually when white people call others racist over and over they are overcompensating for their own racism.

That's a super interesting comment to me since you are always on the edge of implying that I am a racist. You are quick to say that you aren't saying that about me, while implying that I am in discussions about inner city youth. I don't have a problem with you or anyone calling me a racist since I am not, none the less, your comment fascinates me.

Jeeez you people have the attention spans of fish. This isn't about Obama, his college records, his citizenship, what he had for breaky, etc., ad nauseum. This is about 61% of dark-skinned people thinking racism is getting worse.

I find this a curious circumstance.. If a majority elected Obama, and are presumably non-racist', exactly who becomes the minority at this point?

I hear ya, but still the confusion exists in terms of the OP that 61% of Blacks feel that racism is getting worse.

Just a curiosity, that's all
Yep.
I still think it's because the media plays on it so much. It doesn't seem like it's due to people's upbringing so much any more but the media's steering of public opinion. And they are very good and very insidious about doing that at times.

Well, as was already pointed out, voting for Obama certainly doesn't necessarily mean you are not racist.

But that really isn't the point. The question wasn't if they think that the majority of people are racist, it is if they believe that racism is getting worse.

Fun fact, back in the slave days black people outnumbered white people by quite a large number in some areas. That didn't seem to be quite enough to eliminate discrimination though.

Yep.

The media is just playing on what people react to. If enough people didn't get riled up about interracial couples in Cheerios ads, or America The Beautiful being sung in more than one language, these news channels wouldn't dedicate any time to it.

Sounds like racist talk to me.

I'm a racist, sexist, homophobe with a bad diet. I beat my dog. My wife beats me. What's not to love? :)

As far as I know there are three prerequisites for being U.S. President
1. You have to be an American
2. You have to have attained the age of 35 years.
3. You have to be nominated.

Anything else should be nobody's business!

It's also necessary to be born within one of the 57 states. :)

...
Islamophile? It this seriously part of your argument about how this stuff isn't racist?

I'm helping you understand. Btw, there is nothing wrong with being an Islamophile. To suggest otherwise as you have is deeply prejudiced. Now go forth and sin no more.

Lol. What qualifies one as an Islamophile?

Philia. :)

On a more serious note, all philias involve affection...usually based upon positive experiences. Have you ever heard obama talk about the call of the muezzin? He describes the call to prayer in a loving fashion that denotes affection and respect. The interview in which he described hearing the call as a youngster is probably on youtube.

Aren't you affectionate toward anything outside of your own group or beyond yourself?

Divide and conquer

Look up, look way up, there's where we find hard core tiny minorities. They enjoy five star rights protections.

But are they being discriminated against?

The question wasn't if they think that the majority of people are racist, it is if they believe that racism is getting worse.

In light of the Us vs Them mentality that is being used to lever the public at large, the identification of the various minorities and presumed majority play a heavy role in this analysis.

An allegation of racism implies/requires a protagonist and antagonist.... Is your suggestion that the minority is the protagonist? If so, it does become important to understand the lay of the land and identify the related parties(assuming one is interested in a solution, that is). This is where the comment about the majority electing BHO comes into the equation.

What the hell are you talking about?

Racism is racism regardless of the size of each group. Racism is perpetrated by individuals, not be entire races or groups of people against other races or groups of people.

Ok.. Conduct a poll seeking the opinion of Asians, Chinese, Latins and Whites asking the same question.. In the event that any one, or all those groups decry that racism is on the rise, then I guess that you're sh*t outta luck relative to understanding the issue at all.

You can either make the decision to dig a bit on this or plop your head in the sand... Your choice

Racism is definitely on the decline. I can remember the days when Chinese, Native Indians had to sit up in balcony of the movie theatre and mixed marriages between "whites" and blacks or orientals or Native Indians was not accepted. Half breed kids had a huge stigma to overcome. In that regard this country is a much better place today.
