A friend of mine says his native name is Two Feathers.

I sometimes jokingly call him Two Fathers.

I hope it didn't offend him.

If it did he doesn't show it.

We've been friends over 40 years.

Two spirited is an old native thing. Still don't understand it. Same as non binary. My granddaughter apparently has that. I thought it meant like AC/DC, but I was wrong. My DIL is a school social worker, and I think she came up with the idea, so the kids would identify with her or something. Kid is smart and healthy. Made valedictorian and is a hell of a good firefighter.

It's just another form of autism.

I found the above links just before the end of the work day while out for a smoke. Thought it would be worth learning about and discussing.

Know little about it at this point, but when my Son was younger (he’s 35 now) if shit was happening in the school with my child behind my back with a conscious decision by others to keep it from me, that wouldn’t have gone over well to say the least.

I would’ve supported him in just about any not completely retarded decision, but I wouldn’t of appreciated somebody else stepping in to decide what I did, or didn’t need to know about my own child.
They talk as though 100% of parents will do something bad if their kids "come out" which is a pretty sad take on parents now-a-days. While there are irresponsible parents, promoting the idea that ALL PARENTS are horrible & would do their child harm is unconscionable & wrong. Making assumptions like that only harms kids which is disgusting in and of itself!!

Trans teacher Lemieux returning to classroom – this time in Hamilton

The Halton school board says the bill for fulfilling a freedom-of-information request about transgender teacher Kayla Lemieux is $3,085.

Normally, schools are getting things ready for the return of students in late August.

But at Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School in Hamilton, they also are preparing for a teacher who formerly identified as a man and now identifies as a woman with large prosthetic cleavage, a blond wig and lipstick.

Students won’t just be greeted by a new teacher when class begins in a week, they’ll also be welcoming an educator who is world famous for what the principal calls expressing their own “gender expression.”

In a memo to parents obtained by the Toronto Sun, Principal Tom Fisher said the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board school has “an obligation to uphold individual rights and treat everyone with dignity and respect” and “should the school be subject to any disruptions or protests; we are committed to communicating with you as openly and as frequently as possible to ensure student safety – and to share any operational plans.”

The principal highlighted to parents preparations for what he said may be an onslaught of media and potential controversary over trans teacher Kayla Lemieux’s return to the classroom, which included special entry and exit plans.

These will include “having students enter and exit the building using assigned doors at entry and dismissal” and “locking exterior doors during school hours, only using the front main doors during school hours” while “all students and visitors will be required to use an intercom system to enter and exit the building” and asking parents “to email or call before coming to the school if they wish to visit to speak to an employee.”

Much is being moved around to accommodate Lemieux and to ensure the teacher’s comfort and acceptance.

“In an attempt to be transparent with our community, HWDSB communicated about steps we are taking to facilitate a smooth return to school for students and the broader community,” the Board told the Toronto Sun Friday. “We recently communicated to some parents to inform them of the possibility their child’s school may receive heightened public interest.”

That’s exactly what happened last year when Halton District School Board’s Oakville-Trafalgar High School caught the attention of media around the globe.

The school endured bomb threats and staff ended up going on stress leave. It’s unclear if Lemieux will teach industrial arts or another subject at the new school.

While Lemieux has not responded to questions about the transfer to another school board, the Hamilton high school’s principal echoed the HWDSB’s message in his memo to parents.

“We are writing to you today because we anticipate the school your child is attending this year, Nora Frances Henderson, may receive some level of public attention, and we want to communicate what this means for you, your children and our school,” wrote Fisher.

While he didn’t name Lemieux specifically, he did tell parents the teacher is “an experienced educator” who was “recently the subject of public attention, pertaining to their gender expression, while teaching at a school in a different community.”

But Fisher maintained while “there are currently no safety concerns,” to ensure a smooth return to school for students and the broader community, we are communicating with you early and preparing for a variety of scenarios, including possible media interest onsite and protests.”

While private, Lemieux has in the past spoken with media outlets, including the Toronto Sun.

Saying a doctor diagnosed her with rare condition with “XX chromosomes” and that a “hormone sensitivity to estrogen” caused the excessive breast growth. However, Lemieux has never provided any medical documentation to support this claim.

“The diagnosis is based on verbal discussions I have had with my doctor,” Lemieux said at the time. “I never requested a note or letter of these findings. I don’t have anything I can give you.”

Feeling it was not appropriate to even ask, Lemieux said, “I don’t think women, in general, have formal diagnosis of their breast size” and “I also personally consider breast size irrelevant … I decided to break my silence and put my name next to my statements, and now I am being asked to provide proof. I really don’t know how to help you with that.”

Lemieux has also maintained media photographs of a man without wardrobe, or the large breasts, was not her and she hopes the fascination with her lessens with time.

“I never felt I was obligated to reveal personal details about myself based on special interest from media,” Lemieux said. “And I never wanted any attention … I am hoping that me sharing this information will demystify me and give people a better understanding of the person I am.”

That’s what the school is hoping as well.

“Our foremost priority is the success of our students,” Fisher wrote. “We are committed to maintaining a professional environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to their learning.”

Time will tell – students return to the classroom Sept. 5.

Yes, and in that review, which Higgs is now going over, it says that Higgs violated the Charter for the kids.

Also, the kids names were not being CHANGED in NB. Legally that could not happen. What was happening is that if a kid wished to have their new name used, or pronouns matching their gender used in school, they could. It was a respect of the request of the kids. NOTHING was changed legally.

Huh... looking for the links for the advocate's review, this popped up.

So the New Brunswick Women's Council joined in to ask for the advocate to review 713.

And do a pretty in depth look into the issue.

So wonder if the Women's Council of NB is going to be protested against since it seems to be an ally to GLBTQIA+ people.

“Far-right political actors are trying to outdo themselves with the types of cruelty and isolation they can inflict on these already vulnerable people,” Trudeau said in June.

Well, “far right” apparently now includes 78% of the population across Canada, 80% in Quebec and 69% of those who voted Liberal in the last election.

Young women aged 18-34 are the group most likely to say in this recent poll that “parents should neither be informed nor have a say – it’s up to the child,” but that’s only 24% of that group. Among women in that age category, 66% still believe parents should be informed.
In households with children under the age of 18, support for informing parents goes up to 82%.

Parents are far right? You do realize youre dealing with people who will kill you in heartbeat for fucking with their childrens lives?

You cant foghorn them. They're deaf to your bullshit cult.

Seperate that into 2 groups. Women with children and women without.

Ummmmmm No! The Charter only applies to actions conducted by the Feds. The Province is in charge of education.

Youll never win against parents. EVER!

Well, to keep things in perspective, Trudeau's "far left extremism" is worse than any "far right" ones especially when it comes to our kids!!!!!
