You should read Jihad Watch, they've been on top of the Coptic thing for quite a while.
Also, the remaining Christians in Iraq (almost half a million have fled already (Naqba anyone?)) have been warned to leave or "meet the consequences".
You're right, these things don't get much mainstream press, but I'd be surprised, very surprised, if they turned out to be made up.
It's happening all over the world. Even the traditionally "moderate" places like Indonesia and Malaysia are starting to show a Saudi-esque persecution of their non-muslim citizens.
Could it have anything to do with the fact that we've been castrated by political correctness that we are so complacent? All religious violence should be equally condemned. But, what can we do that will not bring us down to their level of insanity?

The articles purpose is to stick it to Muslims, they are the target. The actions in India are to stick it to the Muslims, Pakistan is full of crazy bloodthirsty christian hating Muslims. I don't feel the need to apologize for the alleged acts of violence by some fundementalist mob. This is standard farticle junk journalism ,there are how many millions of Muslims in the world who weren't there alegedly?

Junk journalism is facts out of context, the statement in this piece was 'bad Muslims persecute christians' in India it was bad "muslims murder people from christian countries" and tomorrow it will be from someother town having Muslim problems next week Pakistan gets attacked no body cares about bad Muslims. Teddy bears are sent to Eygypt a fund is set up to help the church.

The target is really Egyptian racial isues. Its nothing to do with religion, thats just a scapegoat they use.
They hate the Coptics because the Coptics aren't arabs. They can't have an "anti-immigrant" hate rally because Coptics are the natives and Arabs are the immigrants.
So they pick on something that is different, religion.
Im sure there were plenty of reasonable people in the deep south in the 1960's, there were also many who were racist bigots, and they were the ones in charge.
