Not as dense as you are, Taxy.

History.

I know you don't like it but it's a "thing" for a reason.

Usually to try and make sure idiots like you don't repeat it. Sadly it tends to happen regardless, because... well... idiots like you.
You really have to quit projecting onto other people. Maybe take down the mirror in front of your computer will help. If not, see a shrink.

Too bad Louise can't seem to muster up the gumption to mandate posting the Ten Amendments (AKA the Bill of Rights) on classroom walls.

Seems more relevant to an education that purports to produce informed, responsible citizens.
In today's world, that is probably racist, sexist, and offensive. Too bad really.

Except learning about politics - at least generally - SHOULD be a class taught in high school (but I'm biased, I took Poli-Sci and loved it).

As for "Social Justice" - seriously? It scares you that much that you don't think kids should learn about the wrongs done to people in history and how it matters?
No, it doesn't scare me that kids learn about their world, but I would prefer teachers be teachers rather than social justice warriors.

So... teachers be teachers, as they are now.

Then what's your issue?

Oh wait, the rando's that are idiots and take it too far? Sure, I can get behind those people not being teachers. Just like I get behind the other rando's who are on the other side of it not being allowed to be teachers.

Many moons & 1/2 a century ago, every school day started with the trifecta of The Lords Prayer, God Save the Queen, & Oh Canada. Didn’t realize it was weird as it just was and happened in every classroom. This wasn’t a Catholic school either.

Our Grandchildren think it was weird when this is mentioned (just to see their reactions).

I remember having to do that too in the 80's.

Hated it.

Ahhh… at that age I didn’t realize the correlation…I just realized they started changing the words to the national anthem every second year it seemed.
They cut the whole third verse out of ours, cuz we got all kissy-face with the Brits, whom we called "hirelings and slaves" in the third verse.

That was back when y'all were Brits.

From singing the national anthem 200 times a year for a few years, to having them change the words three times between 1975 and 1980 or so…. I still couldn’t tell you what the words are to this day now beyond the chorus…& if I saying it, I might come up with a version that hasn’t existed for 45 to 50 years. Go team (Canada)!

Teachers need not practice politics, social justice or preach any religion in schools. All three are someone's religion. Keep it out.

Teachers should teach politics, they should teach how history has wrongly treated some people/most people.

Religion is a whole other issue.
Yes, teachers should teach politics in a class about politics or perhaps in social studies class. It's the practicing part part I have a problem with. And the the Woke movement in all its glory is just another fucked up religion trying to dictate how everyone should think and what they should be allowed to say.
