Well, to be fair, my mother had no job at all, and didn't give a f*ck who raised us, so it ain't just high-income folks.
And hence my deliberate use of the word "SOME".

The $10 a day covers transit both ways. You get to pocket the 50 cents change left over.
Well, they're just trying to encourage the Old Stock Canadians to breed, lest y'all be overrun by brown folks.Actually, if you have a wack of kids now-a-days, the Canada Child Benefit is quite generous, especially if you are a one income family. I have seen people who make in excess of $80,000 with 2 kids still receive benefits. The most I ever saw was $10!
So the immigrants who come here with 4 or 5 kids score big time and do really well, even if in a minimum wage job. They come from nothing so enjoy a nice lifestyle because they know how to make due with what they receive.
Our kids are spoiled rotten and need to learn the value of a buck.
I am a boomer and have worked (and continue to work) for over 50 years. Everything I have I earned. Every election that I have participated in, I have voted for the person I thought would at least try to get our county's finances in order. None have been successful mainly because of the demands of the population to get more "freebies' and for our elected politicians to give them what they want so that they can be re elected. It's disgusting that this has happened and we should be ashamed of ourselves. I don't envy the next generation at all. The debt we're leaving them is unconscionable and the worst of it is, that the debt continues to increase under Mr. Selfie so Boomers aren't the only ones to blame. Who voted this ass in?? Don't think it was the Boomers, but we still have to accept responsibility for what has been done in the past.

Musta sucked paying off the student loans for your primary school.Everything I have I earned.

If it were up to me I'd get rid of all loopholes including kids and have a scaled income tax based on income.
Not just kids....every loophole.
Love going to lunch with people that are "self employed" who moan about taxes then want your receipt so they can claim it as an expense.
Btw...I do support $10 a day child care.
Same way I support your public pension.
Yep and so did the tax payer plus it is guaranteed and insured by the government and tax payer.
Thanks for your service.
Peanuts.Okay then, how much does an unemployed squirrel make?
Watch the freebees dry up once interest rates return to more historical levels .
And what level would that be?
If I recall correctly, back when I was a youth, 6% seemed to be a more or less standard acceptable rate. What bearing that would have on today's rates I wouldn't have an inkling!![]()
