When the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservative Parties merged, the CA had by far the largest membership......they so outnumbered the PCs that the merger was oft called a "hostile takeover" by the CA.

So......the Conservative Party of Canada was.......and is......largely made up of a membership that set out and succeeded in destroying the Progressive Conservative party of Brian and Joe.

Those are the facts.

I joined Reform because I couldn't stand Lyin' Brian.

Lyin Brian has the PM's ear and was giving Harper advice........oops, perhaps you forgot about that.

Apple dosen't far from the tree old man.......lol.....no PC's in the CPC....what a rube.

The PC party was destroyed because of a back stabbing liar who has a nice cabinet post now.....oops, guess you forgot about that to.:lol:

But he's now the grand statesman and mentor of your party.

Certainly Harper consulted Mulrooney often, and spoke well of him......up until the Shreiber affair, when Harper cut him loose big time.

After all, Lyin' Brian was an effective strategist......

And he does have some connection with the old PCs we ate alive :)

But elder statesman? I think not!!!!!!

Oh, Socrates......those who live ibn glass houses......I always said the greatest achievement of Jean Chretien is that he was such a crook he even made Lyin' Brian look good!

Still struggling with that reading comprehension thing?

Yep, Harper is a top-down kinda guy.....so was Chretien. There the comparison stops making sense. Harper's biggest fault is that he is a control freak......he has to have his fingers in every pie. Chretien was apt to leave everything to somebody else.....Chretien's biggest fault was that he is a vindictive, nasty little man, with the ethics of an alley cat and the instincts of a rattlesnake.

I am not particularly fond of Harper as a person (if you could read you would know that from my other posts).........or as a politician. But he took the Party to power, and his policies are just so much better than those of Dion, Layton, or May.

Read up on the Common Sense Revolution. That's the future if he gets his stranglehold. Harris was the same sweet family guy too. Do you know what a six letter word for tyrant is? Hint ... starts with an 'H'

You make it sound like the elimination of the two remaining Torys stupid enough to appear in public was an epic battle of ideology. If Dalton Camp could see it today he would puke in his hat. Oh I forgot about those pathetic remnants of the once great and sane party, rounded up and bought at a country auction by Preston Manning, you know the American preacher from Alberta. Nice guy but he's not really Canadian is he.

Wrong....yet again. Under Cretien everything was controled from the PMO as it now under Harper, Paul Martin tried to change that and it cost him his job.

Took the party to power? Hitler brought the Nazi's to power.....yeah Hitler.

You're not fond of Harper? You are the joke that keeps on giving......"oh everybody is picking on the guy I like so now I'll pretend I don't like him now".....nice try, but you don't fool me old man.

Voting sucks. It's a waste of time. The system's flawed. Politician's don't care about you.

If your not sure perhaps you shouldn't make grand statements of BS.
OK.I will take the bet, Send $1,000 dollars to me and if you win I will send you $2,000 back. Sounds good ,doesn't it? .As i posted,if you were closer and I could trust the transaction ,I may take you up on it. Don't use the fact that a sane man doesn't take bets over the internet,as anything else but common sense. You are such a child.

I strenuously object in the most vociferous way to this statement contained in the body of your news release(any serious takers out there?). I remember explicidly taking the wager in question, and while I cannot bother to find the exact terms of the agreement I'll restate my intentions to honour my word and backbone as the members of my tribe have done for several billion years since shortly after developing the spinal collumm. As a token of my good intentions I am sending you one of my tescticles as registration fee.
My apologies. I did not see where you CLEARLY stated that you accepted the wager. I shake your hand and will contact you the day after the election. Cheers. I give my word that if I lose I will stay away for a month,I hope that is good with you. If you would like the moderators to block me and my IP.,I am OK with that also. And visa versa. Agreed?

Are you talking about Preston Manning, son of Ernest Manning, premier of Alberta for years and years before you were even suckling on moomy's teat for the first time? He is American???? No,he is not. There is a case to be made that Mchael Ignatiff, liberal leader in waiting,is American, having lived there for 30 years. Or Stephane Dion being American, sorry, got that wrong, he carries a passport from France. Best you stick to spreading shady facts about 9/11.

Conservatives gaining momentum on campaign trail: poll

Tories winning over women, urban voters, survey suggests

Last Updated: Friday, September 12, 2008 | 11:59 AM ET The Conservatives have continued to gain ground after the first several days of the Oct. 14 federal election campaign, according to a newly released poll.

Nationally, the Conservatives lead with 41 per cent of the public's support, followed by the Liberals at 26 per cent, while the NDP are at 14 per cent support, said the Canadian Press-Harris/Decima rolling survey, in partnership with the CBC.
The Green Party trails with nine per cent support, while eight per cent of respondents said they favoured the Bloc Québécois.
"This snapshot that we have here will be good news for the Conservative Party," the CBC's David Taylor said Friday following the release of the results.
Harris/Decima president Bruce Anderson described the Conservative momentum as "remarkable," saying the party has gained ground in key subgroups that have eluded them in the past, including urban Canada and women.
Anderson said the boost in support among the groups can be attributed to the party's "massive" advertising campaign compared to the other parties. The Tory ads "have largely been right on the mark in terms of what they needed to accomplish," he said.

Mulroney’s legacy will be the brown bags with cash and the evasion of income tax……………huge serious moral violation………….Jean Chrétien went out with his name clean and NO BROWN BAGS WERE EVER A PART OF THE Chrétien legacy…..

Not so fast Wally, there is 4 weeks left on the campaigning, Harper will apologize few more times or fire some squeaking cons to keep the ship clean and come Election Day you can jump in jubilation. A little early to be bragging now… Harper is not out of the woods yet many are looking to rip him apart……….

Danny Williams will do damage to the Federal Conservatives on the Eastern Provinces even though Danny Williams is a Conservative……..
