Lone Wolf....

I, Harper, and the majority of the people that make up the membership of the current Conservative Party of Canada were NOT Progressive Conservatives.

The majority of those people were NEVER members of the Progressive Conservative Party.

In fact, those of us that put down our 10 bucks to join and support the Reform Party and then the Canadian Alliance were the MAJOR contributors to the downfall of the PC Party. Indeed, we opposed the PCs for the same reasons you are bringing up now........

So, if we opposed the PC Party, if we destroyed the Progressive Conservatives, and most of us were never PC Party members.......how can we be responsible for the "sins" of the PCs?

It doesn't make sense.

Colpy.... Harper policies are recycled Common Sense Revolution from the Mike Harris Progressive Conservatives - right down to Baird, Flaherty and Hudak.

Personally I think the GG should HAVE to offer the other parties the option to form a government before calling elections.

I was thinking about that last night. So would the GG have to make the offer to all parties in the house? What about independants? Seems like it would be a lot of trouble for nothing.

Go to the next largest party, and so forth, until there have been enough rejections that the majority of MP's have elected not to be part of any government.

Well,Socrates and Dark Beaver have sort of,kind of said they would take me up on this, but NO,they haven't. They both not so deftly sidestepped it,but think they did so cleverly. Any serious takers out there? Maybe someone with more backbone than mouth?

I strenuously object in the most vociferous way to this statement contained in the body of your news release(any serious takers out there?). I remember explicidly taking the wager in question, and while I cannot bother to find the exact terms of the agreement I'll restate my intentions to honour my word and backbone as the members of my tribe have done for several billion years since shortly after developing the spinal collumm. As a token of my good intentions I am sending you one of my tescticles as registration fee.

I would be careful tossing out claims that the majority members of the Conservative Party were not members of the PC party.

Oh no, don't worry, I'm sure Colpy being an intellectual elite would have checked before he pulled that one out of his ass......isn't that right Colpy.:p

Every time someone uses the terms 'elite' and 'elitist', I take that to mean, 'he's much smarter than I am'.

I'm sure Colpy will be pleased, but not surprised, to see that you consider him to be so much smarter than you are.

Hey, Colpy - at least one blogger is suggesting that the Green Shift will be enough to make our riding go to the Conservatives under Rodney Weston.

Question about something I thought of yesterday- what will become of Harpers civil suit against the opposition??

Will it still be against the individuals (as a collective) who form the CURRENT opposition, will it be that whatever party forms the opposition next (and it would be hilarious were it the Conservatives in part) are in fact elected into culpability in said suit??

Serious question, I can't figure out how it shakes down but there has to be an answer

No, the defendants are actually listed as: The Liberal Party of Canada, The Federal Liberal Agency of Canada, Jane Doe and John Doe.

I don't believe Dion is that bad. His English might not be perfect but I think he is a good man. The last time I heard him speak he sounded fine.

I am not 100% thrilled with Harper but he will get my vote. Dion my very well be a good man I don't know him personally and unless you know someone intimately then you only know the part of the person they allow you to see. This to me is not a reason to vote for a Party. We will not be able to afford Monsieur Dion. A tax is a tax is a tax. We gave the Liberals over 10 years. They did some good and they did lots of damage. IMHO they have not learned their lesson yet. They need to sit in the corner for a while longer.

Oh he is, he is the chosen one.

All bow before Colpy, he is educated and among Canada's intellectual elite.

The fact that he continually says the wrong thing, is I'm sure, just a test for all us uneducated slobs.

Now sit down on the floor and listen to Colpys teachings.....blink blink.

Harper politics aren't much better. What we saw with Ontario's Common Sense Revolution is what we'll see from a majority Harper government. Mike Harris was a sweetheart of a guy too ... until he got what he wanted. Tom Long, architect of the CSR, writes Conservative policy.

Just wondering.....why have no cons come on here yet attacking Harper for his promise to surrender to the Taliban in 2011?

Are you intimate with Mr Harper? And if so, how long have you supported the neo-con agenda?

Because Avro, Harper understands that Canadians are sick of throwing resuorces into an unwinnable war, a trend that has only just developed and which eagle-eye Harper noticed the second it started....

And more importantly, because Harper used the same weasel-worded declaration as the US did (almost simultaneously too) that "combat troops" would be withdrawn by then- just as folks resisting the occupations had their designations switched to "unlawful combatants", so too can "combat troops" have their designations switched so that the "withdrawal of combat troops" could result quite literally in the withdrawal of ZERO actual troops, they'll just get re-branded :D

The cons know this, they know how well weasel words work, so they who know the drill know that the declaration was totally meaningless and meant to satisfy folks who don't understand how to read spin, is all

If US policy says pull the troops, its Canadian puppet will too....

Just a guess Avro, I would surmise that they have looked and the near term forcast and cost benefit analysis connected with this Afghan adventure and quite rightly accessed dieminishing returns from the enterprize visa V the current partners dire economic prospects, consequently they are very likely to embrace pacifism as is thier natural bent suddenly. We will have a parrade load the leased Russian aircraft and leave the near east a better place for our enlightened contributions. No doubt we will ship home to Canusaadhu on the first dozen planes enough heroine to recover the exercises cost. A seris of commemerative medals medalions coffee mugs whathaveyou will be struck and collected by the faithfull and the sun will set on terrorism finally.
