i had a hot dog at that very stand the fall of 1970...had this mustard stick to apply it...cool huh....

If you ever visit Boston... you MUST go to Kelly's Roast Beef in Revere, Ma which is just outside of Boston and a short walk from public transportation. I KID you not... the best Roast Beef sandwich I ever had. Before the opened up a shop 30 mins from me, I used to drive the hour north through the city to get one. They are THAT good.

Kelly's Roast Beef was also mentioned in the movie "Good Will Hunting". It is that popular around this area.

Now, now, this is a "be nice to Yanks" thread.

There are at least 4,893 Yank bashing threads here..............one nice one is a good idea
.

Hi Colpy ,I,m very nice to the Americans. please read again,it's not the "US" that can't comprehend , it's Us ,meaning Canadians ,that's why they bash the bashed .

What I like About AMERICA are the inhabitants, it's history and it's products. I say this cos in the UK I have spoken to a lot of people who have taken the p..ss out of your saying "have a nice day" the last time I was in the States 1988 ( I've never been asked back! I wonder why)I tried to buy a video tape, which if it were available I would have been one of the first to have a copy over here, the charming young lady tried looking out back through all her stock and told me they did not have it in our format (PAL) but said that if I were to call back she would ask her manager to try their stock at all the branches. On returning sadly she told me that it was not available, for which a thanked her for the trouble she had been put to, and she then appologised and said sorry please! have a nice day. That I think sums it up, helpful, polite and courteous are only a few of the qualities of the inhabitants

What little I did admire about the US has dwindled drastically in the last 7-8 years.
The same government got re-elected by the people and theres the shame.

After spending three weeks stateside this month, I've decided I like their cavalier attitude towards beer. The beer still sucks, (although Bare Knuckle Stout from Anhauser Busch is a decent quaff) but you can buy it anywhere and drink it on the beach or as you walk through a theme park.

Went to a Coyotes game in Phoenix and they let you have the bottle instead of pouring it into a flimsy plastic cup that spills 1/3 by the time you reach your seat.

Just returned from a weekend in The Great Satan.....traveled to Providence RI to see the band Jethro Tull. Great concert! Then went bar-to-bar, got completely incoherently drunk, had a GREAT time, lost my Tull t-shirts........when we got back to the hotel at 3 am leaning on each other, the hotel clerk said "You guys the Canadians?" (I guess it was obvious) The bartender had picked up the t-shirts, remembered we were Canadian and that we stayed at the place down the road, and called to tell us to come get them the next day........

Wonderful people.

Another thing I noticed.....the I-95 has unmanned rest centres with nice heated washrooms, vending machines, phones every 50 miles or so.....I fear that in rural NB the restrooms would be totaled, the vending machines smashed and robbed, the phones ripped apart, and probably the building burned to the ground.....just for the hell of it........believe it or not, I think that the people of Maine, NH, Mass., RI are MORE mannerly in general than Canadians.

Yeah, I like Americans.
