You do realize Israel gets bombed just about every day. I KNOW you do, because we went through a whole thread (a few times) about it already.
And Israel has given up plenty of land, btw. They even offered the Golan recently, in exchange for a promise of peace. Syria's not interested, apparently.
So's Gaza. Gaza is the perfect case in point. Before the Israeli settlers left, it was one of the most productive agricultural centres in the mideast, if not THE most.
What's growing there now? Rocket factories. To launch at Israel.

I remember that thread and the "blame" can't be pointed straight at the Palistinians OR the Syrians. I supplied you with proof of peace offerings by Syria where Isreal basically told em to stick it up their collective arse.

it often seems to me that what the middle east really requires is for someone with power to be capable of realizing that the whole goddamn mess isn't going to be solved by saying "it was them who started it" or "we gave them x so they should give us y". Some people are going to have to learn pragmatism, and face the problems of the present instead of those of the past. Arabs and Jews have both acted horribly in history, and if it's true that the Jews acted worse (or that the Arabs did, believe me I don't know the truth, and i bet you don't either. too much propaganda makes the truth unknowable), then we'll have to get over that too, cos shouting about it and throwing grenades at each other won't help the cause.
Isreal is in a lousy situation in that she refuses to see where she has done anything wrong. She could normalize things if she were to
...retaliate in kind instead of levelling whole villages for single buildings.
...let non-Jews work rather than scrounge through garbage dumps to find metal to sell back to Israel.
...stop partitioning and giving the impression of imprisoning Palestinians.
Granted ... it is far from being one-sided. Arabs are a proud but largely primitive people. Only recently have they traded camels for Cadillacs. Israel's permanence is an affront to their feedom to roam. Now, the religious crazies have got into the fray.
Based on Israel's part performance in peace agreements, Syria is justified in not trusting Israel at her word. Consider, through several cease-fires in 1978-79, there were a lot more ordinance-laden Phantoms and Mirages pass over the Golan Heights than MiGs.
My solution? Move Israel to Cyprus where UN should have put it in the first place.
