Here’s two different news stories on the same reaction to the same situation, but one of these Media Outlets receives 1.6 Billion in taxpayer funding annually and the other one doesn’t:

This week saw a turnaround in the Trudeau government's approach to Iran as an unprecedented revolt against clerical rule that began three weeks ago showed no sign of slowing down.

The change began in Dartmouth, N.S., on Tuesday, where Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said his government would be taking stronger actions against members of the Iranian regime, "including ensuring that we go after them for any assets or homes that they have in Canada."

Then on Friday, the government announced an entry ban on thousands of ranking members of the IRGC, although it fell short of the full terrorist listing activists were seeking.

"In the last few days, I think [the federal Liberals] realized the facts on the ground have changed, and also I think they've seen reactions from Iranian Canadians," said Kaveh Shahrooz, a lawyer who organized the march in Toronto. "The process of working with government is you keep pushing and eventually they give in to your demands."

Shahrooz told CBC he's aware the change of direction may have been motivated by Poilievre's inroads with Iranian voters.

The Trudeau government is sucking and blowing at the same time by publicly calling Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — the thugs now terrorizing the brave women of Iran — a terrorist organization, while refusing to declare this under Canada’s Anti-Terrorism Act.

While Trudeau and Freeland announced further sanctions against Iran on Friday, the PM’s continued refusal to list the IRGC as a terrorist organization is utterly bizarre.

Trudeau’s stand is hypocritical given that for the past week he has accused Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre of misogyny because of a hidden tag in his YouTube videos referencing an anti-woman organization, that Poilievre said he removed as soon as he became aware of it in a report by Global News.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre's full-throated embrace of Iran's uprising has won him praise in the Iranian community. Poilievre personally attended and spoke at both Tuesday's Ottawa rally and at a weekend march in Richmond Hill, Ont., attended by an estimated 50,000 people.

Trudeau, on the other hand, was criticized on Iranian social media for not appearing at any events related to Iran while finding time to go bungee-jumping in the Gatineau hills.
CBC attacked Scheer for being Catholic but praised Trudeau for being Catholic even though they both hold the same political opinion on abortion.

Weird that. This is from a year ago:
It is an opinion based article…& here’s the same guy from this week:
Can anyone tell me the difference between the CBC website and any newspaper website now? While CBC is tasked with providing radio and television services across the country, they increasingly fail to do that while building up a news website to compete with Postmedia, the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star and every other print publication.

They do all this from a position of strength thanks to the $1.4 billion in direct government subsidies handed over by Parliament according to the latest annual report. In addition, they reported another $124 million in subscriber fees, mostly from the preferential treatment that any CBC cable channel receives from the CRTC.

Give anyone a $1.5 billion per year head start and they too could run what looks like a successful media company.

Consider that unlike the $595 million over five years that the Trudeau government promised to divide between the private sector print operators, these are annual and ongoing subsidies to CBC.

The CBC is getting even more government money now, with the Trudeau Liberals promising $400 million over four years to make them less reliant on advertising. Sadly, I don’t see any cut in advertising, just more money for the state broadcaster, another subsidy to keep business as usual going at CBC.

$42M to help CBC recover from the pandemic, and other fiscal update highlights
National Post, November 3, 2022
Their hand is out again, despite already receiving over a billion dollars.
70% of their revenue comes from this Liberal government.
They are getting ANOTHER $400 million over the next four years.
And now the Liberals are handing them another $42 million?
Enough.
The CBC takes from taxpayers, takes from free and independent media, and fuels the media’s bias by acting as a billion-dollar propaganda arm of the Trudeau Liberals.
Chip in to help us defund the CBC.
Worse, this out-of-control extra spending only fuels inflationary deficits that drive up the cost of everything.
Pierre Poilievre has said we will defund the CBC.
We will restore a free and competitive media landscape in Canada and save taxpayers a billion dollars.

Holy CBC BatPeoples!! Check out the headline in the CBC….
….then check out the one place the term is used, & why:

According to Clow's notes, Northwest Territories Premier Caroline Cochrane wanted to be sure the armed forces wouldn't be called in.

"I really don't want to see bloodshed," she said, according to the notes.

Trudeau reassured the premiers that the military was a "last resort," the notes say.

That’s it. That’s the one time the word is used and it made it into the headline twisted CBC style.

Meh, no different than most other media outlets - left and right - click baiting or sensationalizing their headlines to get people to read stuff. What would concern me more is the idea some people had that it WOULD lead to bloodshed.

Why use the military our police are ready willing and able to don Kevlar vests , helmets and shields while smacking protesters with clubs .
Yeah…the militarization (paramilitary) of police forces in North America has been going on for about half a century now. There is a difference between paramilitary police & sicking the army on civilians still though, or even considering it…
But that’s a whole different thread unto itself.

“There’s a reason you separate the military and the police. One fights the enemy of the state. The other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes the police, then the people tend to become the enemies of the state.”

I guess we're fucked. The RCMP is a militia.
