Just think fifteen or so years ago we had the green squads going into schools to encourage children to rat their parents out for smoking pot to today where schools are actively promoting boys to have their rocks cut off .
I kinda feel like that's more of a condemnation about schools than anything else. Clearly they go from one flavor of whackadoodle to another.

HAS to be watched to the end. The message is there but not until the last minute or so.
So why don't you just say it in your own words then instead of making people watch a video they don't want to? You could make the point in your own words faster.

Ohhh right - left wing parrot. You don't have your "own" words. How silly of me.

That was cool. Didn’t see that coming. Dude has some interesting topics and takes on situations, & I’ll get over the shelves eventually. 😉

To me the best about Beau is he's not right or left and he's more about Civic duty and involvement over a lot of other things. I've learned a bit from him and Jim Wright (retired Navy and Intelligence Officer) when it comes to a lot of subjects.

Putin's Russia wages war on its LGBTQ citizens
Author of the article:Liz Braun

The notion of traditional values is part of a smokescreen used by Russian state media to depict the gay community as a threat to the very fibre of what it means to be Russian.

Let it never be said that “traditional family values” is an innocent term.

While America tries to turn back time over abortion rights, Russia has redoubled its efforts to blame the LGBTQ community for almost everything — even war.

The notion of traditional values is part of a smokescreen used by Russian state media to depict the gay community as a threat to the very fibre of what it means to be Russian.

The country is loudly homophobic, but things are so bad lately that an anti-gay stance was key to selling the war in Ukraine.

A recent article in the academic journal, The Conversation Canada, outline how the state and the Russian Orthodox Church have made LGBTQ activism the ultimate symbol of western corruption.

Carlton University professor Richard Foltz, in the article Homophobia as a wartime marketing tool: Some Russians fear the West will make them gay, wrote about the 2013 Russian legislation that banned anything that could be seen as promoting gay rights to children.

That law was described by Human Rights Watch as a “classic example of political homophobia” for “political gain.”

Now the law is about to be expanded, Foltz wrote, “to anything construed as presenting information about homosexuality and would apply to all ages.”

(As the Russian Book Union recently noted, this could mean the banning of classics by Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, among others — bit of a problem.)

The LGBTQ community has been a useful target for 10 years in the state’s attempt to separate Russia — conservative and family oriented — from the perverse and hedonistic West.

According to foreign policy.com, this has become a matter of national security in Russia. Anyone who does not conform to ideas of heterosexual family norms is a threat.

The anti-gay agenda in Russia has fuelled a big increase in hate crimes and is just part of a larger hate campaign the state appears to be waging.

Both President Vladimir Putin and Russian Orthodox Church leader Patriarch Kirill have presented the invasion of Ukraine as a form of holy resistance against the LGBTQ — people they claim are representative of failed Western morals.

It all sounds frankly bizarre — except that, as foreignpolicy.com wrotes, Russia’s attacks on the rights of LGBTQ citizens is approved of by Christian conservative groups in the U.S. and elsewhere. Hungary has passed a similar gay propaganda law, while Romania and Poland are thinking it over.

Moreover, as Foltz stated, using LGBTQ issues to win support for the invasion of Ukraine means Russia has a lot in common with the Republican Party in the U.S. “and their cynical exploitation of the abortion debate and other social issues.

“In both cases,” Foltz wrote, “a deliberate policy of inflaming the ignorant and irrational passions of broad segments of the population appears to have great success in stifling science and rational discourse — along with any level of human compassion.”

(Canada is not immune from such “deliberate policies” — as with Pierre Poilievre purposely using his videos to appeal to far-right, misogynistic online movements.)

Earlier this year, NBC reported on the massive donations to 11 American nonprofits identified by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups.

Some of the groups assert that, “LGBTQ people are a threat to society itself,” and some justify violence against the community.

The common thread in all this is how hate translates into political power.

If the Parental Rights in Education bill — Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill — is signed into law, it would prohibit “classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity” in the state’s primary schools.

Sounds just like that repressive anti-gay Russian legislation of 2013.

Ya, see the Russian/Ukraine thread; posted a news article and video about some military dickheads calling the war a 'holy war' now against Satanists and GLBTQIA+.

Why does that shock you? Are Christian parents not loving parents?

If you were a parent you'd understand the bond but you chose not to be a mother just to spite yourself.

Sad.

What about JWs? Their anti blood transfusion stance is not exactly caring about their kids.

Y'know, I've had you blocked for a while because I got tired of being pissed off in general for the stupid, bullying and abusing your mod power bullshit. Better to just ignore you and so on. But sometimes when things pop up, to get context I'll 'show' your posts as it pertains to replies. I still don't reply because there's no point.

But this...

Here's a few things for you.

1. Christian parents ARE loving parents, but they can also be absolutely the worst people. The friend I got the meme from has a trans kid. There are a LOT of so called "Christian Parents" who, if they had a trans kid, would either push to have them conversion therapy bound, abuse the kid in hopes that they would 'repent' of being trans, or outright deny them and kick them out of their homes. So that I pointed out THIS Christian parent was absolutely amazing and awesome for being supportive was somehow meaning that no Christian parents are? Or something. You just assumed shit and went with it.

But then the second sentence gets me.

2. I absolutely realize the bond between parents and kids is a strong thing, I'm not a blind idiot. I also am experienced enough to know that not all parent/kid relationships HAVE this. Or that what "Bond" they share is only good so long as the kid does everything the parent wants. The moment the kid becomes an individual, problems start.

And this... THIS is the big response that I'm breaking my own rule to post to you about.

3. I DID NOT "Choose" NOT to be a mother. I always wanted kids; I even was sure that had I had them, I'd have twins. But then I got into a relationship where the other person did NOT want kids, and I gave up that hope/dream for as long as I was with them. Then when I left them, the possibility was there again, but my life was different by then. So what I chose is not to be a SINGLE mom. What I chose was not to just spread my legs, to just any guy, JUST to have a kid. What I chose was wanting to have a child with a partner, someone who not only would be a parent to my child, but also a partner for me in helping to RAISE that child. What I chose was to think of the ramifications of having a child as a single parent vs. a family. I WANTED to have kids. Between the age of 30 and 40, the knowledge that I likely would NOT actually caused me a LOT of depression and deep grief. And honestly, I was (and am) JEALOUS of my brother because HE was able to have his wife and kid. There's also a whole lot of stuff with that I won't go into further.

Suffice to say that my "Choice" not to have kids was NOT to "spite" myself.

4. What's sad is because I made those choices for the GOOD of any prospective child I could have had, you think it is sad. I suppose putting the life of the child I could have had first is sad. I suppose standing up to support kids who aren't mine, who I don't even know, but who are going through HELL because THEIR parents reject them all because they are not exactly like they want them to be, is sad. And I suppose that because of it, I'm called a "groomer" when all I want is to be sure kids stay ALIVE regardless of what they're going through, is sad. I suppose, too, that I do this because I can't be the mom to my own kids I wanted to be, so I'll be damned sure to be a "mom" to kids who need the support... in honor for the children I did not have because having kids is not about ME or being SELFISH, but it should be about THEM...

If this makes me a spiteful, sad woman... then despite the hurt and tears in my eyes... I'll take those words and own them and give a deserving "Fuck you" back.

And you can ban me for whatever days you want for daring to speak back to you; for THIS absolute ignorant and fucking demeaning comment, I'll be happy for it. I've tried to "keep my nose clean" but for this?

Fuck you, Pete. Fuck you.

Do you think all black people are the same ? How about natives , or Europeans are they all the same ? Why would you think all Christian’s are the same ? How many types of Christianity are there ? Do they all preach in lockstep ?
Your bigotry shows .
