CBS released clips Sunday night of Oprah Winfrey’s upcoming pally chat with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the latest installment of the royal soap opera.
Markle described life in the Royal Family as — GASP! — “almost unsurvivable.”
The clips were shown during a break on 60 Minutes and apparently, the Prince of Hollywood and his bride are taking a scorched-earth approach.
“You’ve said some pretty shocking things here … wait, hold up, wait a minute,” Winfrey tells her friends.
And she offers a slew of softball, viral questions.

And Prince Harry, holding his wife’s hand, upped the emotional ante by invoking his late mother, Princess Diana.
He told Winfrey: “My biggest concern was history repeating itself.”
The prince told Winfrey that he still agonizes over the 1997 death of Diana in a Paris tunnel. Her limo was being chased by paparazzi but her driver was intoxicated.
“You know, for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her going through this process by herself all those years ago,” he said of his mother’s infamous 1995 BBC interview.

CBS released clips Sunday of Oprah Winfrey's upcoming chat with Prince Harry and Meghan in the latest installment of the royal soap opera.
These are the people who supposedly ran away from their royal duties to escape the limelight and the media. Now they're appearing on Oprah. You can't make this shit up.
Instead of appearing on Oprah, Harry should be returning to the UK. His grandfather is ill in hospital while he and his insufferable wife are making money for appearing on a TV show.
Prince Harry only wants fawning coverage
He hates the press because it holds him to account.
What will Harry and Meghan say to Oprah Winfrey on Sunday? It’s going to be a huge TV moment. It will be the first time the couple will speak candidly about all the drama that surrounded their exit from royal life a year ago.
A slightly cheesy, melodramatic trailer has been teased already, but that’s just the way trailers for this type of programme go. We will see what the actual substance of the interview is next weekend. Oprah has promised that nothing is off limits in the interview.
Hopefully it will hopefully be an improvement on Harry’s recent appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. In that interview, Harry expressed some pretty strong opinions about the British media which went totally unchallenged by Corden, who thought it was more interesting to discuss waffles and waffle makers. Of course, that type of light chatter is typical for late night comedy shows. But the serious things Harry said are not and they came across as a rant.
Harry is completely entitled to his opinions, however strong. But we also need to zoom out from his personal thoughts and feelings and examine what he’s saying from a political angle. He says he has a problem with the way British media reports on the royal family, but exactly what kind of alternative is he proposing? He’s not an ordinary person. He’s sixth in line to the British throne. How should that power be held to account? What mechanism, other than the media, do we have to do that? We can’t vote the royals in or out. They don’t submit themselves to the types of tough questions that politicians face from journalists or parliament.
Exactly how robust are Harry’s opinions, anyway? Is he able to consistently defend them? We will never know because he never faces any real scrutiny. No royal does (other than Andrew). Harry has only ever done friendly interviews. It is precisely because the royal family evades more hard-hitting journalism that much of what we read about them is little more than gossipy sniping from the edges. The royals make it difficult for the media to penetrate much deeper.
What Harry doesn’t seem to grasp (or acknowledge) is that the monarchy is not universally adored. It has its fans but also its detractors, who resent its power and privilege. Who does Harry think journalists write for? It’s not themselves, but for their readers. And there are many out there who are more than happy to read negative stories about the dysfunctional Windsors. How else can they entertain their dissatisfaction with the royals? The ballot box is not an option.
Of course, Harry and Meghan are human beings, and I’m sure that the criticism must hurt sometimes. It’s clear that the two of them were really unhappy with royal life, and we will find out the true extent of that on Sunday. But just how realistic were their goals of ‘carving out a progressive role’ in the monarchy?
This is something that needs to be interrogated a bit more. There was a lot of breathless chatter about how they were ‘modernising the monarchy’, but that seems a contradiction in terms. The monarchy is the very antithesis of progress. That’s why traditionalists love it – it’s ancient and unchanging.
Germaine Greer was absolutely spot on when, in 2018, she questioned why someone as creative and entrepreneurial as Meghan would want to join the rigid hierarchies of the royal family, having to learn to show deference and to curtsy to her in-laws. After the fun life she had built for herself in Toronto, that must have seemed like a misery. Greer correctly predicted that Meghan would want out. Her comments were probably the most astute and sober analysis on offer at the time.
And this is the true value of journalism. The ability to look beyond the spin and the fairytale facade, and to see things as they truly are. Harry likes to be combative. But just for once I would like to see him properly challenged. That would be truly progressive. Will Oprah be able to do that on Sunday?

He is said to have claimed the duchess 'drove two personal assistants out of the household and was undermining the confidence of a third staff member'. The newspaper says Mr Knauf, who now heads the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge 's charitable foundation, seemingly acted to get Buckingham Palace to protect staff he claimed were coming under unbearable pressure from Meghan. It further claims Harry 'pleaded' with him not to pursue the allegations.

It’s a royal rumble: U.K. royalty vs. America’s talk show queen.
For weeks, we’ve heard ominous rumours that Oprah Winfrey is going to bring down Britain’s Queen Elizabeth with a tell-all interview with Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

To re-cap: Meghan was a so-so actress of no particular fame who managed to hook up with Britain’s second most popular royal — the cheeky Prince Harry.
Almost overnight, she went from living in a nice rented house in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood to fancy digs at Kensington Palace.
Hundreds of thousands of cheering people lined the streets to cheer the happy couple their lavish wedding. The Queen lent her a priceless tiara.
How much adulation does one couple need?
Oddly, while the church was packed with A-list celebrities from both side of the Atlantic, the only member of Meghan’s family in the church was her mom, Doria Ragland.
Since then the wheels have fallen off the golden coach.

There have been dire warnings that Sunday’s TV interview will be devastating to the Royals. They should be “hiding behind the couch,” in fear. It has all the overtones of Harry’s mom, Diana, who gave a jaw-dropping interview with the BBC, in which she revealed Prince Charles’ affair with the then-Camilla Parker Bowles.
Who can forget that, “There were three of us in the marriage, so it was a bit crowded,” moment?
Harry recently gave a light-hearted interview with talk show host James Corden. He told Corden he had to get out of the U.K., to get away from Britain’s pervasive media. Oddly, he saw nothing wrong with the Netflix series, The Crown, dismissing is because, “everyone knows it’s fiction.”

Then again, H&M recently signed a mega-deal with Netflix, so they’re hardly likely to bite the hand that spoon-feeds them.
Teaser clips have Oprah asking Meghan if she was “silent or silenced?” Harry says the couple fled the UK because Royal life was “unsurvivable.”
Oh, please. Meghan was no child when she married Harry. She knew what she was getting into.
The rest of the world is fighting through a devastating pandemic that’s taken millions of lives, destroyed hundreds of millions of jobs and upended life as we know it.
People don’t want to hear the petty complaints of a well-heeled couple, one of whom was raised in a palace, and who now live in a lavish mansion in California.
Their timing is exquisitely bad. Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, 99, is gravely ill. He’s been in hospital for more than two weeks and was recently transferred to a cardiac hospital. The Queen has bigger things to worry about than American crown envy.
You’d think H&M could hold off. It’s bad enough that Netflix is making money off the private lives of the Royal Family, now Oprah is set to cash in as well. Talk about an ungrateful wedding guest. The Queen was good enough to invite her into her home at Windsor Castle. Now the talk show queen is set to use that “in” to further her career and make money. It’s almost like she resents the Queen for all those castles and palaces.
What a bunch of opportunists.
They know they can get away with it with impunity, because the Royals never sue. The Queen is highly unlikely to take to the airwaves to respond, so it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.
That means Netflix, Oprah and H&M will rewrite UK history to fit their narrative — and sell it to the highest bidder.

It’s a royal rumble: U.K. royalty vs. America’s talk show queen.
For weeks, we’ve heard ominous rumours that Oprah Winfrey is going to bring down Britain’s Queen Elizabeth with a tell-all interview with Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

To re-cap: Meghan was a so-so actress of no particular fame who managed to hook up with Britain’s second most popular royal — the cheeky Prince Harry.
Almost overnight, she went from living in a nice rented house in Toronto’s Annex neighbourhood to fancy digs at Kensington Palace.
Hundreds of thousands of cheering people lined the streets to cheer the happy couple their lavish wedding. The Queen lent her a priceless tiara.
How much adulation does one couple need?
Oddly, while the church was packed with A-list celebrities from both side of the Atlantic, the only member of Meghan’s family in the church was her mom, Doria Ragland.
Since then the wheels have fallen off the golden coach.

There have been dire warnings that Sunday’s TV interview will be devastating to the Royals. They should be “hiding behind the couch,” in fear. It has all the overtones of Harry’s mom, Diana, who gave a jaw-dropping interview with the BBC, in which she revealed Prince Charles’ affair with the then-Camilla Parker Bowles.
Who can forget that, “There were three of us in the marriage, so it was a bit crowded,” moment?
Harry recently gave a light-hearted interview with talk show host James Corden. He told Corden he had to get out of the U.K., to get away from Britain’s pervasive media. Oddly, he saw nothing wrong with the Netflix series, The Crown, dismissing is because, “everyone knows it’s fiction.”

Then again, H&M recently signed a mega-deal with Netflix, so they’re hardly likely to bite the hand that spoon-feeds them.
Teaser clips have Oprah asking Meghan if she was “silent or silenced?” Harry says the couple fled the UK because Royal life was “unsurvivable.”
Oh, please. Meghan was no child when she married Harry. She knew what she was getting into.
The rest of the world is fighting through a devastating pandemic that’s taken millions of lives, destroyed hundreds of millions of jobs and upended life as we know it.
People don’t want to hear the petty complaints of a well-heeled couple, one of whom was raised in a palace, and who now live in a lavish mansion in California.
Their timing is exquisitely bad. Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, 99, is gravely ill. He’s been in hospital for more than two weeks and was recently transferred to a cardiac hospital. The Queen has bigger things to worry about than American crown envy.
You’d think H&M could hold off. It’s bad enough that Netflix is making money off the private lives of the Royal Family, now Oprah is set to cash in as well. Talk about an ungrateful wedding guest. The Queen was good enough to invite her into her home at Windsor Castle. Now the talk show queen is set to use that “in” to further her career and make money. It’s almost like she resents the Queen for all those castles and palaces.
What a bunch of opportunists.
They know they can get away with it with impunity, because the Royals never sue. The Queen is highly unlikely to take to the airwaves to respond, so it’s like shooting fish in a barrel.
That means Netflix, Oprah and H&M will rewrite UK history to fit their narrative — and sell it to the highest bidder.

As Prince Harry and his bride feverishly scramble to spin their narrative, a bombshell report has emerged in the The Times of London alleging that it was the actress who played the bully.

Markle has gone to great lengths to portray herself as the victim of palace machinations but the report suggests that isn’t true.
She is expected to double down in the duo’s interview with pal Oprah Winfrey on Sunday.
Sources told The Times of London that the Duchess of Sussex sometimes reduced staff members to tears during her spell at Kensington Palace.
One incident had a staffer telling a co-worker following a confrontation: “I can’t stop shaking.”
The famed newspaper said two staff members were so bullied by Markle that they left their jobs.

Another said they were “humiliated” by the onetime Suits TV star.
One former staffer said: “(It felt) more like emotional cruelty and manipulation, which I guess could also be called bullying.”

Their former communications aide went so far as to report the behaviour to protect co-workers.
“I am very concerned that the duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable,” the HR complaint from Jason Knauff said.
“The duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights. She is bullying Y and seeking to undermine her confidence. We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior towards Y.”
Knauff added: “I remain concerned that nothing will be done.”
But The Times reported that Buckingham Palace turned a blind eye to Markle’s alleged antics and hoped the problem would go away.
“Senior people in the household … knew that they had a situation where members of staff, particularly young women, were being bullied to the point of tears,” one person said.
“The institution just protected Meghan constantly. All the men in grey suits who she hates have a lot to answer for, because they did absolutely nothing to protect people.”
A spokesman for the pair said Markle denied claims of bullying and was “saddened” by the “attack on her character.”

LONDON — Prince Harry’s wife Meghan has accused Buckingham Palace of “perpetuating falsehoods” about her and her spouse, saying the royal couple would not be silent in telling their story.
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, made the comments to talk show host Oprah Winfrey in an interview about why they quit their royal roles that is due to be broadcast on U.S. television on Sunday.
An advance excerpt of the interview was released on Wednesday, hours after Buckingham Palace said it was “very concerned” about reports in the Times newspaper that assistants working for Meghan two years ago had been bullied by her.
Harry and Meghan issued a statement denying that she had bullied anyone.
“How do you feel about the Palace hearing you speak your truth today?” Winfrey asks Meghan in the excerpt.
Meghan responded: “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time we would still just be silent, if there is an active role that The Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us.” The Firm is the name that the British royal family sometimes uses to describe itself.

“And if that comes with risk of losing things, I mean, there’s a lot that’s been lost already,” Meghan added.
The interview was recorded before The Times newspaper ran a report citing unnamed sources as saying an aide to Harry and Meghan had raised a complaint in October 2018 alleging that Meghan had reduced some of her assistants to tears and treated others so badly that they had quit.
The paper said Harry had urged the aide, who has now left their staff, to drop the complaint, and it never progressed.
The Times said it had been contacted by former staff members who wanted the public to gain insight before the Winfrey interview aired – and that lawyers for the couple had labeled the allegations a smear orchestrated by the Palace.
Reuters could not independently verify the report.
“We are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times following claims made by former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
The Royal Household “does not and will not tolerate bullying or harassment in the workplace,” it added.
It said its HR team would look into the allegations, and that members of staff involved at the time would be invited to participate.
“SADDENED BY ATTACK”
A spokeswoman for Meghan said earlier that she was “saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.”

Meghan and Harry, who married in May 2018, stepped back from their official duties in March last year to forge new careers and a financially independent life in California.
That decision was confirmed last month, when they also handed over all their royal patronages. They said their move was fueled in part by intense press intrusion.
However, Meghan had also previously indicated that she felt she did not have the full support of the royal family.
In court documents submitted as part of her successful privacy action against the mass-circulation Mail on Sunday, her lawyers said she had felt “unprotected” while she was pregnant with their son Archie.
