Would it have been better to allow Iran to keep ramping up their attacks? Was he in Iraq to offer peace?
How is it better to enrage so many in the region ..........thus fostering even more terrorism.?? Now you have millions wanting revenge on the US.........

This guy is already replaced.... and the new one will probably carry on with the Iranian agenda. What has it solved?? Has it made the region more peaceful?? The enraged will carry a grudge......... just as the US carries a grudge for 911........and the cycle of violence / wars will just continue......... as all reason has left the building.
Do you think 811 happened in a void?? It was a result of many years of negative US policy in the ME..........It was the wrong way of dealing with it....... but humans that are hurt , angry will not tolerate being abused for too long.......regardless of who they are. or where they live. The yanks will have to look at themselves at some point and consider how their actions have affected others. Adopting a militant approach to issues is going backwards and barbaric. The act of assignation is barbaric s.........no matter who does it. Their excessive pride is inviting a fall.......and lack of insight about themselves and how they fit in the world...........will add to it. But.....their attitudinise of entitlement will blind them to introspection..........

If he's been replaced what's the big deal then?

Why was he out of Iran and not on a scheduled political visit?
that isn't the point. The Yanks are behaving like terrorists...and now threatening destruction of cultural elements................just confirms that......... as attacking any cultural elements is a war crime. Terrorists don't comply with any laws..........or consider their actions war crimes. They rationalize their conduct to make it acceptable to the sheeple.

The Yanks are being thrown out now from Iraq......... We will see if they actually leave. They cannot be trusted to comply with other nations request......
The consequences of Trump's premeditated Murder are just beginning. The Yanks deserve everything that comes their way now ...and will manipulate the situation in order to maintain a foothold in Iraq. Very Empire like.

I wonder how many innocent Canadians he killed.

Is Canada implicit, they are in charge of the Iraq initiative?

A threat is just that, a threat, Iran has a choice to allow the threat to become reality or not.

The US hasn't done anything in Iran yet, but Iran is attacking US interests outside of Iran so who is the terrorist?

The world is not black and white . It has been in technicolor since the late 50’s . You obviously didn’t see the reaction in Iraq to this guys death . They were celebrating on the streets .
I guess it depends if you are a sunny or a sh-t how one feels about his death .

We have a duty to defend ourselves - the Reaper was only a matter of time

It has emerged in the past 24 hours that there was a British plan to assassinate General Qasem Soleimani in 2007 — but it was stopped at the time by then Foreign Secretary David Miliband.

Soleimani was planning terror attacks against UK troops in Basra, southern Iraq. We clearly don’t know every detail behind that *decision — but should always be clear about our objectives.

Britain must not be risk-averse. We must stand robust when UK interests are *challenged.

Boris should act like Churchill and show support for our American allies

After a weekend of confused silence, Boris needs to bring out his inner Winston Churchill.

The wartime leader is his lifelong hero, the subject of many speeches and a book hinting at similarities between Winston and himself.

Churchill’s wartime motto was: Action This Day.

Washington needs to know this day who are its friends and who are the hand-wringing waverers.

But urging everyone to calm down simply does not cut it.

This country voted Leave in 2016 in order to restore its place as an independent sovereign voice, not to waffle.

So do we have a view? Or are we still a Brussels stooge?

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo lambasted Britain and other EU states for refusing to stand up and be counted.

Brussels is fair game. It ditched US-led sanctions against Iran, leaving General Soleimani with the resources to pursue his terror wars against the West.

And it continued with Barack Obama’s futile dream of tempting the regime back to the civilised world with kind words and hard cash. Britain reluctantly tagged along.

Then Trump asked why the hell we were funding Soleimani while he trashed our good intentions in a murderous rampage costing British and American lives.

This man was a monster. The Mullahs played the West for fools while he was busy slaughtering countless thousands including fellow Shia Muslims.

Even so, the appeasement policy is still supported by American Democrats and EU leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron who is desperate to retain Britain’s military and intelligence clout after Brexit.

We should not allow this to blur the UK’s wider interest.

With our departure looming on January 31, the death of Qasem Soleimani is the perfect moment for the UK to signal its post-Brexit direction of travel.

they both are acting like terrorists......which makes them BOTH fools.

Apart from that...... WHY is Iran so upset with the US?? ....and has been for years?? Has Iran been treated fairly?/ Go back to when Iran took those hostages...........WHAT prompted that behavior?? Until we understand them and their motives and reactions better......all we are doing behaving like them. If the US proclaims to be civilized with higher ethics ....it has to act that way.......Otherwise it is just a silly bully with too many weapons.

The replacement has vowed to remove the US out of the ME... ............Is Trump going to assassinate him too.......and keep assassinating them as they are replaced?? Sheer idiocy.

as long as there is anger at the US in the ME........Americans should not feel safe.........and they brought it on to themselves.

there will be unintended consequences. There are no benefits to this action........except in Trump's mind.... one being distract from his impeachment. There is no good answer t "why now"......except something to benefit Trump.
