No, Saddam was an insane dictator and needed removal. Lying to actually do that act though is just as bad, IMO, in its own way. He should have just outright said "I want him gone, I want a war with him to do so".

Except there was no proof he had WMD's which is why he 'lied'. He "maybe" had them, he "Could" have had them, but no proof.

At the time the war started, the world was NOT on his side, sorry to burst your bubble. Maybe you need to read the history.

What did he lie about?

says a LOT about his supporters.......don'ti t??
Actually it says a lot about the poster . He is projecting what he wants Trump to be , not at all who he is . At least Cliffy is consistent, as he hates all politicals equally , you on the other hand reserve your hatred for Republicans and conservatives .

Equally? You think he speaks that badly of Kim Jong Il, Pukin, or Trudeau?

I stated what he lied about in the post.

I just reread the post and it's NOT clear what he lied about. If you think that because no WMDs were found that equates to lying you are sadly mistaken. The leader of a country ALWAYS has to ensure the worse case scenario is covered, the same as an insurance policy. Because no WMDs were found does NOT mean there weren't any. Iraq is a big country and unless it was all dug up those things could have been anywhere. I followed that war very closely for the first couple of months and at that time Bush had support right around the world, including Australia and several countries in Europe. To say he had no support simply isn't true. I get so sick of listening to "Monday morning quarterbacks".

Again, I said he "could" have had WMD's, he "maybe" had them, but there was no proof at all. Without that definitive proof, yes, the US LIED to get into Iraq.

Exactly, which is what I said. But just because there MIGHT have been isn't enough to go to war and lead to the destabilization of the region - which is what exactly happened.

Absolutely true, but again, there was no actual proof, and the excuse to go to war was that he had WMD's... without proof, there was no excuse for the war. IE, he lied.

So did I, so did many people.

There were 41 Countries - according to your link - that went into Iraq with the US.

There were 54 Countries who were against Iraq. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opposition_to_the_Iraq_War

It needs to also be said that despite some of the countries that went in with the US, a LOT of their citizens were still against the war.

And, by the by, even people in the US realize Iraq was a mistake as time as gone on.

Saddam was a monster, Saddam was a powder keg waiting to blow but the US had no excuse to go into Iraq, which is why they made up one.
