Is that anything like "Hurtin' Albertan "?
Nope, more like.. "Let the Eastern bastards freeze in the dark!"
...and when Alberta joins the USA and no more oil and transfer payments.. there goes your welfare check..

We get our of oil from just about anywhere but Alberta. Unfortunately, we buy our natural gas from there but if traitorous wretches like you kerp threatening our supply, we need to get it from more reliable places, like Saudi Arabia and Russia.Nope, more like.. “Let the Eastern bastards freeze in the dark!"

That way, not another nickel has to find it's way West and you don't have anything more to worry about when your resources staynicely in the ground.
media is reporting a serious outbreak of idiot-pox in southern ont right now.
There is no known cure
The Yanks already pay less for your petro products. Revenues will go down, down, down.Times are pretty good right now in the patch and likely to get better,
Once that the TMX is completed (construction has now been approved and underway by the Feds), we'll have less bottle neck and be getting closer to World prices, all thanks to the pipeline that your buddy tater tot purchased with all those hard-earned Ont and Que dollars.
With the above in mind, you should be all about AB separating from the ROC, thereby fully eliminating any CAD from ending up in my pockets
Why not? What are you afraid of, pigs?
If there are a lot fewer guns about, there are fewer gun crimes in the jurisdiction. That is true all over the World. That is what the statistics from the rest of the planet say. Stabbing deaths, other types of murder and mayhem are the same around the world but gun deaths go down when you take away the guns ... The UK and Australia are prime exampkes. We are in a way, as well. And I'm sure that the "bad" guys will follow the rules and get rid of their guns. Wow, talk about dreaming! Honestly, are people that stupid? Really?
The only people who can be deprived of their Second Amendment right to pack heat are felons currently incarcerated and those who have been judicially declared non compos mentis.
Age restrictions, criminal history restrictions, and mental health restrictions are unConstitutional.
That's right, let's get hard-core. The rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights are fundamental. They apply to everyone. Children, nuts, and criminals have all the rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights.
The Second Amendment is no different from the First, the Fourth, or the Fifth.
I keep mine around because Americans are out to get me.After asking many people who were pro-gun about the mentally ill, and seeing their non-answers about what to do with them v. guns, I can only agree with this.
The US won't give up their guns because they need them as their security blankets against the world, cause the world is out to get them.
Uh-oh. I better go order 1000 rounds online with no security check of any kind (except to make sure my credit card is valid). There is no gun control solution for America.
It would be nice to see some common sense regulations but the problem is a complex social one.
I see no way out and nothing but escalation.
Nah, I have enough guns.More guns is always the answer.
The NRA have done an amazing job down there.

Too bad you haven't read the reams of paper that have been written interpreting and arguing about the interpretations of the text. If you had, your opinion might be worth something.I've read the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and it seems to me the Right to Bear Arms was aimed specifically at the right to form Citizen's Militias as a bulwark against tyranny when it was devised in the 18th Century. Citizen Militias are in fact entities that strictly control access to armories and have defined rules of engagement and command structure.
Imho it was transformed into a universal right to have any type of weaponry in your possession by a well organized gun lobby and sympathetic judicial interpretations. Even within this interpretation there is sufficient jurisprudence on the definitions of 'rights' to limit access to that which is consistent with a commensurate level of responsibility and the common good. For instance the right of free expression does not extend to yelling 'Fire' in crowded theatre for 'kicks'.
The same should apply for common sense gun regulation which would include limits of magazine size, armour piercing or military grade ammunition, restrictions on ownership by mentally ill or those who have made violent threats, bans bump stocks.
