We Canadians are reading and seeing the turmoil that is being displayed by the Liberals in Ottawa over the SNC Lavalin affair. The prime minister (herein after referred to Just-in) is giving the appearance that he has not any thing wrong, yet every time he tries to bury the affair, another ugly head appears. We can also relate the issue to him playing poker. He is betting the house with a pair of two’s, not realizing that other people, like Jodi Wilson-Raybould has Aces. Should we expect anything different from a drama teacher?
What I have in the back of my mind is that the Liberals are saying to SNC, do anything that you want, and we will forgive you by making sure that you do not get penalized. The change in the Legislation last fall made it apparent that is what the intent is, and not what the Liberals are saying, other countries do this, so we should follow suit. Are the Liberals saying, it will be OK for SNC to kill people who do not agree with them, and the Liberals will get you off? I see that the Liberals could make sure that the killer, does not get his trial in a timely manner, by then allowing the courts to throw the case out. Is what the Liberals are also saying (under their breath) similar to, “Oh, by the way we Liberals are working on legislation saying that SNC Lavalin can arrange to kill any number of people (preferably Conservatives) that get in their way, (to be non-discriminatory the Liberals would have to include anybody that donates a large amount of money to the Liberal Party,)” so we have to be nice to them? Would the Liberals at the same time include any member of the Liberal party or Member of Parliament the same privilege? I guess this confirms the corruptness of the Liberals in Canada.
When the government is in session, is it alright to ask the Prime Minister if he would back the SNC group should they be charged with murder, as that is what there is an appearance the Liberals would do? Why would the stop at bribery and not murder?
I can see that everyone with smarts will be sure to record any conversations with any member of the Liberal party, to insure that they can back up what is said. Just ask Just-in if he should have had conversations with Mr. Michael Wernick after the phone call Michael made with Jody. Having said this, are we stupid enough to believe that Just-in’s announcement March 29th, 2019, saying he did not know about the conversation between Michael and Jodi, until that same date? Why would Just-in still want to pursue the issue, knowing that Michael was warned by Jodi that Michael and the rest of the Liberals were nearing a conflict of interest situation. When Jodi says to the effect, “somebody is not telling Justin that they are out of order.” What would that mean to people with any integrity at all? Michael says that Mr. Trudeau has his mind made up and will get his way, no matter what you say will become of the file.
I guess that when Canadians realize that the Liberals are special people in government and are allowed to do near anything they want, we should expect that corruption is the way that the Liberals do business, get used to it. Nothing new here to see, move on.

All the nonsense about 'killing people' aside, not a bad post.

each "liberal" government is different depending on the leadership. ( ability, experience, or lack of )......... It is not fair to generalize all liberals u;under the same umbrella.......... anymore than it is reasonable to do that with any other party ,

With the current US policies........ and attitude........ we have a challenge we have not had for a long time. Not wanting to lose jobs is not a bad thing. It is how they all went about it. Inexperience?? immateriality, not seasoned enough in dealing with narcissistic sociopaths?? All of the above?? Not defending (blindly_ Trudeau........as personally I expected his inexperience to show.........(and some youthful arrogance too)

because we are so tightly tied to the US......what they do affects us more than most nations.

We don't have the massive economy the US has.......

Fresh documents keep up pressure on Canada's Trudeau over scandal

OTTAWA (Reuters) - A former cabinet member at the heart of a crisis that could cost Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau his job on Friday released documents to back up her case that she had been pressured to help a large corporation avoid a corruption trial.

Wilson-Raybould made public around 40 pages of documents revealing more details of what she said were attempts by officials to force her change her mind even after she insisted they desist.

excerpts:

Wilson-Raybould included a recording of a phone call with Wernick last December in which he told her he was worried about “a collision” between her and Trudeau “because he is pretty firm about this.”

Wilson-Raybould, who stressed she thought the call was inappropriate, told Wernick she was waiting “for the other shoe to drop” because she was under no illusion about how Trudeau “gets things that he wants.”

Opposition legislators said the documents reinforced their demand for a public inquiry into the matter, something Trudeau says is not necessary.

You're half right.
Corruption was rampant in the last federal government - but it was a Conservative government,

That's why they are now a regional party

Can you link to one scandal of corruption from the previous Gov. that wasn't exonerated in court?

Yup a minister of the crown was hounded out of office for ordering breakfast . Meanwhile the next government started with a minister of the crown hiring a photographer for $50,000:00 or so. Guess who didn’t get hounded out of office .

Thank you prime minister for showing your true colours

PM wasn't briefed on Wilson-Raybould's concerns due to holiday break, says Wernick

How convenient Butts with his own file dump after the fact.

Butts tables notes, texts on SNC-Lavalin

OTTAWA - Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's former principal secretary Gerald Butts says he has provided notes and text messages to the House of Commons justice committee in response to evidence filed last week by former attorney general Jody Wilson-Raybould on the ongoing SNC-Lavalin controversy.
In a tweet published today, Butts says he has handed over notes and texts between himself and Wilson-Raybould after having reviewed the materials she submitted last week.
On Friday, the justice committee released a 43-page brief from Wilson-Raybould, which includes emails and text messages, as well as a 17-minute audio clip of a secretly-recorded telephone call between herself and Michael Wernick, the country's top public servant.
In the Dec. 19 call, Wernick repeatedly asks Wilson-Raybould why she isn't using all tools at her disposal on the SNC-Lavalin case, but she pushes back saying she would not override the decision of the director of public prosecutions to pursue criminal charges against SNC-Lavalin for bribery and fraud.
Wernick told her the prime minister is "quite determined" on the matter and would likely "find a way to get it done one way or another."
Butts, who resigned as Trudeau's principle secretary last month, told the justice committee he believes nobody from the Prime Minister's Office did anything wrong and that Wilson-Raybould never complained about facing improper pressure on the case.
