Trump's "base" curiously includes Evangelical Christians and for the life if me, I can't figure out why. Trump believes in Trump. He doesn't have a faithful bone in his body and his actions are all counter-Christian in nature.

Don't know why he has the support of veterans, either. His rich dad arranged for him to not be one.

You can,t figure out Trumps support possibly because you haven,t figured out the appauling ignorance of Americans about Americans and America.

The USA is crumbling before the worlds eyes, virtually every nation is eager to be rid of it,s heavy meddling. The USA is being isolated economically and politically by it,s own insane addiction to global dominance. As a result it will agonizingly become a giant shtthole that it accuses all its helpless little victim nations of being. Good riddance.

Oh,I know about that part. Wait about 60 hours and we'll know how far into Ontario the same Big Stupid extends.

The evangelical support is because he is enabling their anti abortion laws.

They will tolerate anything if it lets them make poor people have more babies for jebus

Unlike Obama that actively served in so many conflicts

I wasn't comparing him to Obama, Betty Crocker or Mrs. Tiggywinkle. Citing Obama doesn't let him off of being a too cowardly to serve his country, despite having spent years in military school training his to do so. Only a morally empty man like Trump can claim to be the Veteran's friend.

We're all going about it the wrong way. Trump doesn't like the trade imbalance so let's help him out with that. Let's impose an export tariff on all extracted resources from Crown land. We wouldn't want too big a trade surplus with the US now would we.

You don't have a trade surplus with us. Trade between the U.S. and Canada is effectively balanced.

Indeed. So what is Trump's issue?? (besides wanting to destroy what exists and replacing it with something that has a T on it.

He is now talking about different agreements (bilateral) between US/CDA and US Mexico.

His inconsistency , and unpredictability might be his undoing.... IF he was a real professional deal maker ...

He is yet to come out with a reasonable and intelligent proposal......... that does not include petulant bellicosity about how badly the US is treated. OR if he did not change his mind on a whimm or some inner biased impulse.

He's just created a scenario whereby Canada, Mexico, the EU, Japan, and others just will want to negotiate broader trade relations with one another for the time being, wait for Trump to expire, and then negotiate a multilateral trade deal with the next US president. No one really wants to negotiate with Trump because he's too unpredictable. We don't want to waste our resources negotiating just for the goal post to change each time we're about to reach an agreement.

Good points.

(the only one on the planet that seems to want to "negotiate" with T......is Kim. but he has his own unpredtability factor. ;-) (two of a kind??;-)

but I digress..

I'd agree, except that Spanky doesn't think. He fantasizes.

His followers don't think either. They just drool.
You captured it ;-)

The facts are that America has a $2 billion trade surplus with Canada on steel.

There's no need to belabor the point.

Canada is dumping steel cheap Chinese steel in America in order to make their own more expensive steel more attractive to Americans.

No stupider than denying climate change I suppose

Well you do show your stupidity every day on here so once more is no big deal.

You don't have a trade surplus with us. Trade between the U.S. and Canada is effectively balanced.

In that case trudOWE will consider you a poor country and give you several billions of our tax dollars.
