I don't know what's more amusing. Watching Trudeau make an idiot of himself or the kool-aid drinkers defend his stupidity.
I heard on the radio coming home from work last night that apparently Trudeau said it in jest! Well, I sure didn't hear anyone laughing so I'm thinking this is his "people" trying to make light of a really, really stupid comment.

The Conservative leader that is offered has little to attract votes. Unless the Liberals do something truly disastrous, they will probably be re-elected at this point. Conservatives have real problems marketing themselves in general and the fact that the political right south of the border has turned into a Frankenstein monster really hurts them a lot.

I would be inclined to buy it if I saw any evidence that he was joking, but he said it sternly with a straight face, and everyone cheered, not laughed. I think he saw an opportunity to signal his virtue and said it without engaging his brain, and on reflection of how he was being mocked internationally, they had to cover it over somehow.
As a person trying so hard to zealously re-engineer social consciousness and to display their overt feminism so vigorously, it goes against his objective by making jokes about using terms like mankind. Acknowledging how ridiculous political correctness has gotten by mocking it with a joke only belittles his cause.

In your dreams - Harper at least had some integrity. Trudeau not so much! Your support of him and the Liberals is very telling tho'
Steven Harper was elected on a promise to end gold-plated MP pensions - just like all the other Reform jackasses.
As far as I know the only Reformer who refused to collect the pension he promised he would not collect was Preston Manning.
Preston Manning may be described as having integrity, not Steven Harper who is just another liar like Scheer
