Our whole society is one big straight parade. TV, movies, popular culture, are all about straight relationships, straight pursuits, straight conquests. So much so that the microscopic fraction of gay relationships you see in popular culture, usually presented en passant, stand out so much to you.

But you're pleased by women nearly or totally naked in public.

Yep. It wasn't gays arrested for f*cking like bunnies in St. Patrick's cathedral.

I guess that pair is typical of all straights.

I do agree that our media has become way too sexualized. We like to point to gays who vaunt their homosexuality in public while ignoring straights who do the same.

I've been thinking about what symbol straight, privileged white men could hijack and this is all I could come up with...

Tennis anyone?

The self-righteous lunatics of this forum came out in full force on this thread topic. I'm glad i posted it. I got to know many of you so much better.

You should be embarrassed posting something that your daughter allegedly said to you, when looking for advise. This was all about you, not her.

You could have posted without mentioning your daughter. My belief is that you suffer from some MH issues.

If this discussion did happen, you'd best look in the mirror and ask yourself if you could have handled it better.

Now do everyone a favour and apologise to your daugther. You betrayed her trust. As a parent, it is up to you, not her, to decide whether details of her life should be made public.

In short, you're a jerk.

Wow - so much desertion! Guess one can't comment on anything without others denigrating their thoughts and/or feelings.

The comment was that his daughter was concerned about the LGBT community taking the rainbow as their symbol. I would have thought that the comments would be something in the order of "you need to explain to your daughter that she has nothing to fear and that she needs to stand up to what others think of her" or some such. Instead, we get nothing but insults, innuendo and mean-spiritedness.

Guess the world is going to hell in a hand basket!! We can't even be civil anymore. That is truly unfortunate.

No, the thread is about his daughter not wanting to have a rainbow backpack because other kids might think she is "Gay". As if that is something "bad", or "derogatory". Then Blaming "Gays" for this, rather than blaming herself and her Father for that attitude and blaming the kids that would "make fun of" her for having that back pack. The thread IS about that families patent bigotry, despite saying they are not. Then to top it off, hoof states that being Gay is a lifestyle choice. This is the icing on the cake when it comes to his bigoted attitude towards the LGBTQ community.

I have solid, gainful employment...a lovely wife...two amazing little girls...a healthy social life...etc.

It's incredible how inured one can become to a forum full of shiftless layabouts who have never accomplished squat, pontificating on the current events of the day.

Getting called 'anti-gay'...mean-spirited attacks on my reputation...etc. All because I brought up a topic for discussion from my young daughter.

Screw off Murph! You're past your best before date.

You have issues. Deal with them. Don't embarrass yourself or your family any more than you have already done.

I suggested earlier that you should drop it, but you kept on. That makes you a fool as well.

A topic of discussion?

Okay then, what was there to discuss?

How you poorly handled your daughter's question (if this is something she did indeed bring up)?

How much of a poor parent you are to blame gays for 'stealing the rainbow'?

How you obviously have some anti-gay issues despite your denials?

What topic were we supposed to discuss with t his?

How about this one?

It was supposed to stand for love, and straight white men turned it into this:

Now, THAT's hijacking!

Everyone has his/her own "comfort zone" about things and it can vary from one person to another just as it can vary with the same person over time. It's just one of those things there is no correct answer to, so the best reaction to it is tolerance. What you don't like you often have the option of avoiding.

In short, you're a jerk.

So, you have no problem with the KKK's "comfort zone"? Or the neonazi's "comfort zone"? Both are bigoted organizations.

I don't recall mentioning either the K.K.K. or the Neo Nazis, although I'm not particularly comfortable with either one of them!

No, the assumption made by some of those here are that everyone else is a bigot and/or a racist. I suppose if one is to post here, they need to have a thick skin and be prepared for the ambush. I'm sure Hoof didn't expect the reaction he got. I doubt if he's anti whatever he's been called since his post but there are those who simply spew venom because it makes them feel good. Well, whatever. Guess there are those who believe they are more "enlightened" than others and the rest of us suck!! LOL

Of course he's not. His babble about a 300-lb. gay man waving his junk around and his lies directed at me specifically that Indians boiled missionaries are clear evidence of his tolerance and wub for all humankind.

He's "sure" despite an utter lack of evidence that Indians boiled missionaries, and you're "sure" he's not a bigot.

Let's hear it for surety!

Hafta take your word for it n' think it's a move in the right direction to tone down the skinfest but I'm wondering why homosexual TO cops had to travel to nyc to march in a homosexual parade. For a organization that preaches diversity they clearly miss the boat on leading by example, banning their own that wear serve and protect uniforms serving the public the queer lobby strives to reach appears counter productive. Practice what you preach can be challenging n' in this scenario the lobby scores a big fat zero, 'any hint of law enforcement in our parade is not welcome.' History tells of other groups disdain for the peoples guardians being present during their activites...pride all inclusive eh!
TO cops don't because they caved to BLM.

The fruitiest thing about pride parade is the lack of fruitiness.

Injuns lead the Canadian Pride parades.
