And some people have made up their simple minds that Khadr is innocent as a newborn lamb and no possible proof will change their mind

Nothing has been proven. He's already stated that if he could change things, he would. The settlement, which is what this thread is about, has nothing to do with his guilt or innocence.

How much for a tell-all book??If you disagree with the payout, what would you have said if he won his $20million lawsuit that was about to start?
Not to mention that the title of the thread is grossly inaccurate to stir up a few emotions. A more accurate title might be "Khadr may be lucky to get a small fraction of $10.5 million"![]()

Well, lawyers are lawyers. Our government (the Lieberal one) ignored the rightful claim of the American widow of the man this particular a-s-s-wipe murdered and paid the slimy bastard directly. But like I said, they probably did so via his lawyers so I am sure they will get their share. But unlike your claim, he has already got his ill-gotten gain.
I'll ask you, aside from the coerced guilty plea, what evidence do you have that he killed anyone.

Rrrright.....I think GerryH has done a good job of articulating the fallacies of the case!
And some people in this forum have made up their simple minds that Khadr is innocent as a newborn lamb and no possible proof will change their mind...
Canadian courts can make mistakes both ways....a lot of people believe that in this case a liberal court mistake favored Khadr
Actually, his lawyers have stated repeatedly that the only reason for the confession was to get out of gitmo. That was the deal. Plead guilty and we will send you home. Now, if that isn't a text book definition of coercion............
Some people have made up their minds that Omar is guilty of everything he's accused of, regardless of the fact they most weren't there when the alleged events took place. I don't f**king know what and if he's guilty of or not guilty of, but I do know in Canada you are innocent until proven guilty. For MOST crimes there comes a time when you are given a chance to resume a normal life!
The widow has been granted a civil case victory. All money going to khadar should have gone to her based upon that case.
And yet there are those who think that Canada should have demanded the US hand him over or go bust down the door and take him home. Crazy, isn't it?So, you think that Canadian courts should automatically enforce civil suits in the USA? What about other countries? What other countries should have jurisdiction over Canada?
No, the settlement must be about the Liberals appeasing their guilty conscience for not doing anything to help poor Omar out for the first 4 years of incarceration at gitmo. The settlement, which is what this thread is about, has nothing to do with his guilt or innocence.
