You're forgetting that he was a juvenile. Juveniles are not held fully responsible for their actions. It's the whole justification for subjecting them to parental or state authority that adults are not subject to.

I admire your tenacity to continue to use facts to try and convince these guys.

Sue Harper.

I'm sure he also appointed this judge which you voted him in to choose.

I'm thinking that Trudeau didn't want to bring up the fact that the liberals were responsible for having kadar's dad released from a Pakistan prison to come back to Canada only to go back and get together with bin laden to attack us and our allies. The liberals have some secrets that they'd rather not have revealed. Kadar's dad had a relationship with the liberals party. Having said that as a 15 year old brought up in Canada, unless he was really stupid, I don't know how he didn't know what he was doing was wrong. Video shows that he seemed quite happy building bombs to kill infidels. If he attended a public school here in Canada, our school systems obviously don't teach enough what is morally right and/or wrong. Oh, I keep forgetting, morals don't have any place in our schools anymore. Sigh.... It would be nice if we had proof that he was tortured. The supreme court simply accepted what his lawyers submitted. Secondly, I would like him to publico acknowledge that he no longer believes in the ideology of Muslim extremists. Until I see those 2 things, he should not receive a dime! His mom is also responsible for allowing him to go with his dad. But she has publicly stated that she supports al-quaeda et all. So I do not trust anything said by others as to how he feels. They are nothing but his puppets and as long as his family refuses to repudiate what these terrorists stand for, I refuse to believe a word he or his co-horts (lawyers etc.) say. They are being used as fools as are we all.

All that Harper did was bail the arsehole out of Gitmo and get him into a Canadian prison and the legal system that freed him. Khadr was sent to Gitmo during the Chretien government (the one that used to sub-out torture to the Syrians) and he stayed there during the Martin government.

A Canadian child is captured by invading foreign military forces and tortured in a black site prison for years before a confession obtained through that torture is used to justify the many violations of international law this represents. Evidence comes to light that the government whose job it is to protect the rights of Canadian citizens instead worked against their own citizen's legal rights. Khadr was not on trial here: it is the action of representatives of Canada's government that denied one of their own citizens their fundamental rights that is being addressed.

Omar Khadr deserves his settlement and his apology from the Canadian government: Jonathan Kay - CBC News | Opinion

By international law, Khadr was a child soldier. He did not receive the rights he was entitled to under international law. No international court has ever convicted a child of a war crime. The primary evidence of his guilt is a confession obtained through torture. There are good reasons we don't allow those as evidence in law.

There are so many problems with this payout that's its unbelievable that the Libs are going thru with the payout.

It also reminds me that Trudeau did not want to pay any ransom to the terrorists in the Philippines when they held and killed two Canadians,,,, yet here he is paying $10 M to a terrorist who killed a soldier.
He could have saved the lives of two Canadians by paying only a fraction of this $10M

I realize Omar pled guilty to killing the guy in order to get transferred to a Canadian prison. Can anyone tell me if he was proved guilty of murder beyond a reasonable doubt? There lies the whole crux of determining what kind of settlement he deserves.

This disgusting little punk Khadr should be taken to court. It's the last thing his lawyers want because they fear 'jury nullification', where the jury imposes a settlement in contradiction the legal instructions given to them and in the interest of justice and fairness. Justin and the Liberals fear the same thing.

It would be a kick in the face of their own gutlessness and capitulation to SCOC dictates and its increasingly depraved, pornograghic and corrupt moral sensibilities. Take it to court. See what jury would give a pathetic, treasonous, little sh*t like Khadr $10.5M for betraying his own (supposed) country and inflicting murderous rampage on its troops and those of its allies. Then kick his lousy ass with his cruddy ideology out of the country.

What is it that you know for sure (beyond reasonable doubt) about Khadr that the rest of us don't? And how do you know it? By reading the Tabloids? :) :)

his all forgiving sky daddy told him to hate this guy...he must have or he'd be at odds with his religion...nah, he wouldn't. He'd just go into a dark box, confess his sin and voila! forgiven!

Omar probably did the same thing though...and voila! forgiven!
