The people opposing him (Trump ) are NOT psychotic .They have solid grounds t o criticize him and condemn his infantile, erratic and irresponsible behavior. The only ones that come close to being psychotic , delusional are Trump himself and his fanatical followers. That is where the mass psychosis is a possibility.

and NO......it is NOT humorous to observe the situation that has evolved in the U.S ........as it is problematic. not only to the American population, but the world at large.
And yes......Cliffy's cartoons are spot on..........as they go to the character of the man (Trump) and the situation he crated.

Maybe if he spent less time being angry and reactive on Twitter , and less time blaming Obama and everyone else for the issues ..........and actually starting doing some real and effective work on the items he promised. Or are his promises as empty as his shallow words and character. His rudeness and crudeness are simply not acceptable in the role of president........president of anything let alone of a county. Given how he has

What is Trump and Co actual DOING about N.K besides telling Kim to get a life.?? As if that kind of talk will get Trump anywhere positive. functioned for six months......can anyone determine the direction he is going or taking the country??
What would you suggest he do about N.Korea ? If Trump orders military intervention , you would be up in arms .
Economic sanctions are not your game , what in your esteemed vision should Trump and America do in the face of N.Korean aggression ?

He has no intention of doing anything about his promises. He promised spending on infrastructure, and is slashing funding to the big rail tunnel project in the NY area, for example. He has no intention of building 'a wall', it was just hot air. He has no idea how to deal with ISIS. He doesn't know what to do about N Korea. He has no idea how to replace Obamacare with something better, as he promised. he promised to 'drain the swamp', and raved about not being beholden to Wall St, but has put Wall St in charge of most of the government.

He is exactly what the people voted for: a real estate developer, big on promises, short on execution, but make stuff shiny, and people don't notice.

JLM has a point...

But honestly, I am not privy to all the facts. ( as in intelligence.) BUT........as Kim wants to be a serious world player .........what is he prepared to do to gain that status or at least more respect and recognition Kims resentment at the U.S is only intensified by Trumps idiotic tweets. Might be time to speak directly with him.(Kim) if he isn't too paranoid for a meetup at a neutral place or a place of mutual choosing. Unless there is some dialogue between the US and Kim......... the usual measure will not make a difference. One has to find his Achilles heel. Suspect he knows that an attack on the US would be suicidal.

U.S. denies visas for Afghanistan’s all-girl robotics team

By Amanda Erickson July 2

It's not easy to get robotics equipment through customs in Afghanistan, but that didn't deter this plucky bunch.
For months, a team of six teenage girls has been scrambling to build a ball-sorting robot that will compete in an international competition. Other teams received their raw materials in March. But the box sent from America had been held up for months amid concerns about terrorism. So the young engineers improvised, building motorized machines from household materials.
They didn't have time to waste if they were going to compete in the FIRST Global Challenge, an international robotics competition to be held in Washington, D.C., this month. Young teams from around the world face off against each other, in an effort to engage people in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).
To participate, the girls from the city of Herat in western Afghanistan needed permission to travel to the United States. So, after they persuaded their parents to let them go, they made the 500-mile journey to the U.S. Embassy in Kabul to apply for their visas. They did this twice, even though that location was targeted by a deadly truck bomb. Things seemed to be lining up. But then the team got some bad news: Their visa applications had been denied. Roya Mahboob, who founded Citadel software company in Afghanistan and was the country's first female technology chief executive, is one of the team's sponsors. When the girls heard the news, she said, “they were crying all the day.”
“The first time [they were rejected] it was very difficult talking with the students,” Mahboob told Mashable. “They're young and they were very upset.”
Fourteen-year-old Fatemah told Forbes, “We want to show the world we can do it; we just need a chance.”

On their competition page, the girls wrote:
We want to make a difference, and most breakthroughs in science, technology, and other industries normally start with the dream of a child to do something great. We want to be that child and pursue our dreams to make a difference in peoples' lives.
The State Department does not comment on specific visa denials. According to recent State Department records, it's particularly hard to get a business travel visa from Afghanistan. Just 112 were granted in May 2017; 780 visas were issued to visitors from Iraq and 4,067 from Pakistan.
FIRST Global president and former congressman Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) was disappointed by the news and frustrated that the “extraordinarily brave young women” won't be able to travel to the United States and instead will have to watch their robot compete via Skype. Teams from Iraq, Iran and Sudan will be at the competition.
Mahboob is frustrated, but she still thinks the teenagers can serve as an inspiration for others. “In Afghanistan, as you know it’s a very man-dominated industry,” Mahboob said, according to Newsweek. “The girls, they’re showing at a young age that they can build something.”

Good. Teach 'em American values.

Actually, probably just as well they're not coming. They won't have to endure Trumpchumps endlessly sniggering over the name "Mahboob."

Or perhaps it's time to relocate the competition to a more welcoming jurisdiction... like Svalbard maybe. Besides, Svalbard hasn't suffered a terrorist incident yet, so it must be doing something right that we can learn from.

The Trump Administration’s Voter-Suppression Plans Are Backfiring Badly

In an unprecedented show of bipartisan resistance, 45 states are refusing to hand over private voter data to Kris Kobach.

On June 28, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, the vice chair of Donald Trump’s presidential commission on “election integrity,” sent a letter to all 50 states requesting sweeping voter data, including Social Security numbers, party affiliation, criminal backgrounds, and military history.
At first, only a few states, like California, Kentucky, and Virginia, said no, denouncing the commission as “a waste of taxpayer money and a distraction from the real threats to the integrity of our elections today.” But over the holiday weekend, opposition to Kobach’s request dramatically increased from both red and blue states. As of Wednesday afternoon, 45 states have refused to turn over private voter data to Trump’s commission. “I’ve been studying America’s election administration since 2000, and I’ve rarely seen a firestorm like this,” wrote MIT political scientist Charles Stewart III.
Twenty states are refusing to give Kobach any data and 25 states are handing over only limited public information on voters (a full list of the states appears below). Even Kobach couldn’t hand over Social Security numbers to himself because they’re not publicly available in Kansas. Six states have not yet responded.

Head of Donald Trump’s “voter fraud” investigation is now being investigated for election fraud

Donald Trump’s ‘voter fraud’ investigation is little more than a thinly veiled attempt at allowing Donald Trump to convince himself that he didn’t really lose the popular vote, while collecting personal information on voters for future campaign use. It’s why more than forty states have flatly rejected the Trump camp’s request for such data. But now the effort has backfired even more thoroughly on Trump.

It's a little uncanny the way so many people are mesmerized with Trump. Politicians are pretty well all "tarred with the same brush" and that's their persona. There's nothing really special about it.

Is that the current standard for presidential behavior?? Has the bar ever been this low??

North Korea missile launch marks a direct challenge to Trump administration

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...04488-609c-11e7-8adc-fea80e32bf47_story.html?

So far he has issued a insulting Tweet about and to Kim. Is that what he calls Twitter tactless "diplomacy"??

Compared to war starting events that have happened like Israel and their nukes ( and JFK's assassination), or the sinking of the USS Liberty, or things that never happened like the gulf of Tonkin incident?
