How do we know Mexico has the money?
I wonder if Mexico has a big national debt like most of the democratic countries? Does anybody know?
How do we know Mexico has the money?
The Internets and phone lines have been on fire between the two countries for a while now, I think. I cannot see anyone being surprised when the US says, "Meh..." at the Mexican diplomats.
No doubt that Trump's people, and Obama's people, and Bushes people all said the same thing. Every US administration has probably asked the Mexicans, "What are you bringing to the table?"
Because I honestly cannot think of anything that the US needs from there. Cheap labour perhaps, but I believe the US government and US big business can outsource elsewhere. IOW, Mexico needs the US more than the US needs Mexico.
That means the American consumer pays for it.I have heard he will impose a 20% tariff on Mexican goods to pay for the wall. So technically it does count I guess.
Frankly I doubt the Dumpster has the attention span to do much damage. The latest report on his behaviour is that he frequently gets bored during policy discussions and turns on the TV and starts watching that instead of paying attention. People forget that the Dumpster is already several years past normal retirement age. The US presidency is not a six hour a day job, but I would be surprised if he can handle more than that.

Mexico will pay for the wall. The US will be using the 'border adjustment' method which is actually being used by Mexico. Trump will refund the tax on exports and charge it on imports. The US has a trade deficit with Mexico, so net revenue will be positive, therefore Mexico will pay for the wall and Trump will be making a lot more money that just the cost of the wall.

The US is going to have to have to do alot of scrambling to cover the imports they get from Mexico right now.
Here's what else we import from Mexico, Mr. Trump - Sep. 16, 2016
https://www.bustle.com/p/what-does-the-us-import-from-mexico-youre-right-to-be-worried-33444:
The top imports from Mexico in 2015 were vehicles, electrical machinery, machinery, mineral fuels, and medical instruments, the USTR reported. But the country is our second largest supplier of agriculture goods, including vegetables, fruit, wine, beer, and snack foods. Yes, if you're worried about your avocados and your Coronas, you're not off base.
Chances are Mexico will just increase the costs of those by 20%.
Maybe Mexico should decrease the price of ladders by 20%....
Yes, the US should. Wonder why it doesn't
Gee, all the stuff that should be made at home or grown by americans like it used to be
...it means that you obviously believe in what was written or said...
That means the American consumer pays for it.
America will export ladders to Mexico contructed from 100% Pittsburgh steel. Its gonna be yuge.
Mexico will pay for sure. They do not have much of a choice now.
