Not right away though. You see, I don't think Trump is a tax-and-spender, but rather a borrow-and-spender for the most part. Sure he'll raise some taxes like tariffs and maybe a moderate wealth tax, but he said he wants to lower other taxes too like income tax for lower income earners. And yes he wants to cut spending in some areas. But big picture, he's a borrow-and-spender more than he is a tax-and-spender.

It's the way to win votes though. A true socialist would want the government to raise taxes, fees, and fines first before it increases spending. A true capitalist would want the government to reduce expenditure first before it reduces taxes, fees, fines, and other sources of revenue.

But a bummer who just wants freebies from the government would want the government to lower taxes and increase spending. he wants everything for nothing. And that's what wins votes nowadays, both on the political faux left and the political faux right of the spectrum.

Meryl Streep accuses Trump of influencing the public with his speeches while she is doing the same thing, influencing the public with HER speech.
If Streep had been posting on a forum she would have been 'off topic'. The event was about awards, NOT politics.
