I would say Clinton.

The proper utilitarian candidate would have to be someone with a chance of winning. A candidate with no chance of winning, no matter how good, has no utility.

I'm sure that by assigning enough unsupported assertions of value to various, randomly selected factors, we could construct a bovine excremental demonstration that voting for Skippy the Wonder Mutt is actually the greatest good for the greatest number.

As I said, utilitarianism is a useful tool, but when it's manipulated by an outcome-determinative, smug little true believer, it's just more BS.

Skippy the Wonder Mutt has a few skeletons in his closet:

"You know I'm automatically attracted to butts.. I just start sniffing them. It's like a magnet. Just sniff. I don't even wait. And when you're a dog they let you do it. You can do anything. Hump their leg. You can do anything."

Nope just using Martha's sentence as a guide and extrapolating from there. I personally just wish she'd f**k off and shut up. :) :) Although not my nature I CAN be hateful......................Vader, John Wayne Gacy, Richard Speck, Kansas City Dennis, Charley Manson.

that straight jacket I mentioned the other day for many of you on this subject is getting closer and
closer for you jlm, I see you being the first to totally lose it.
yes hateful definitely is your nature, you have shown it many times here.
and the many times you have referred Hillary's voice to that of a 'fish wife', (again 'women'), I'm
sure you have all the fish wives up in arms, they must be on the march in your direction, no, jlm
I see you in jail long before Hillary, but they will have to drag you out of the looney-bin to get
you there.

you spewed hate toward Hillary from the very first day, and it is stronger now than then. hating people
is a huge weakness in one's nature, take a look in the mirror and take a deep breath and as a Canadian
you are so far down the hate road, for a candidate in another country, there might be no coming back, if she gets elected, that will only
be the start for you, what then. how will you manage to get thru each day.

Melania Trump will speak of her live with The Donald. I have no doubt the she will say he's a good husband and father. His grown up children seem to love their father, which is a statement. I'm sure her young son will be raised in the mold of his father. CNN who is on top of most things, including no barriers on attacking/ questioning spouses, have not mentioned that Melania's father is a member of the Slovenian Communist Party, who looks a lot like The Donald?

The truly sad part is that you think you're being clever.

I don't recall saying (or thinking) that!

Question #1. Why would someone else's opinion of a politician bother you?
Question #2. Is my "hatred" (your evaluation) of Clinton any worse than your opinion of Trump?
Question #3. "Fish wife" is solely a recognized (tongue in cheek) term describing an irate woman's voice. How does that translate into my hating Hillary?
Question #4. Outside of being picked up for being drunk when I was 16 years old, I don't have any criminal record, so do you REALLY think my chance of going to jail is imminent?
Question #5. Outside of my being crazy and having read question #4 do you REALLY consider me dangerous enough to end up in the looney bin?

Considering all the foregoing I just found out this afternoon I may have to adjust my opinion slightly (VERY slightly) - A financial advisor emailed me that Canada may do better under Clinton than Trump, although we WOULD be in a more favourable position as far as Energy and Security goes under Trump. Anyway Nov. 8 will be a very interesting day and which ever way it goes isn't going to bother me too much. Nice debating with you.

Again, I'm mystified. Why do you care whether a government official in another country accused of highly technical violations with no evidence that they did any harm goes to jail or not?

I remember, vaguely, the Senator Duffy flap on this board. Was never sure exactly what it was all about, because I didn't care enough to look into it.

Ah, well, as the old saying goes, the servants are endlessly fascinated by the petty doings of the masters, and the masters are unaware of the petty doings of the servants.

Not to imply y'all are servants, mind. Clients is more accurate.
I really don't care what you yanks do and have always known that I can do squat about what you yanks do .
As far as Duffey of course he didn't spend time in jail , his mistake was letting someone pay his entitlements back . Sh-t if he kept it there would have never been a scandal .
As far as the rest goes I recall you making snide comments throughout our last election campaign .

And are you really implying that fire cannot follow smoke ?

If I leave my house for a week and don't lock the doors, can you quantify the odds of my coming back with nothing missing?
Depends if anyone checks the locks or not . I have had my car window broken when my door was open .

That's because simply having a contrary opinion does not typically cause any harm and therefore it can be afforded to give everyone equal opportunity for same.

Similarly, utilitarianism favours upholding equal rights and freedoms for all because that leads to long term societal benefits.
And what happens when that one contradictory idea is right ?

The proper utilitarian candidate would have to be someone with a chance of winning. A candidate with no chance of winning, no matter how good, has no utility.
However loyal democrats and loyal republicans in every district in America go out and support their party even in solid constituencies .
In Canada loyal conservatives ,ndp , bloc, liberals , and greens all dutifully support their choice despite the odds .

Pretty consistent trend

Your worried .

Actually Hillary's fish wife's voice kind of reminds me of our last ndp leader here in lala land . She was told she was winning every one was told she was winning , she expected to win . But nobody liked her and only those that were told to , voted for her . I can't even remember her name . LOL .

If Trump can sway the vested interests and simplify the tax code Canada would have to follow suit , and I am sure your advisor would be in favor .

When you get to make things up as you go along why wouldn't it be consistent??

Weienergate is all about a pedophile ring with the elites that flew to a certain island. Bill Clinton has gone to 'Orgy Island' more that 20 times. Child porn being found on Wiener's laptop is what could not be ignored.
