New Report on Russia-Georgia War: EU Investigators Debunk Saakashvili's Lies

The EU fact-finding mission on the Russia-Georgia war has published its findings in a much-anticipated report. The authors blame Georgia for the war but also assign partial responsibility to Russia. Both countries have reacted angrily to the findings, with the Russia ambassador to NATO saying the report is only "pseudo-balanced."

NATO is trying to provoke Russia into giving them a reason to attack. It has nothing to do with the Ukraine and everything to do with Russia and China wanting to eliminate the Yanky oil dollar in their trading. The banksters need more cash and they are willing to sacrifice you and your children to get it in yet another stupid war. Be prepared for another false flag that may interrupt and possibly cancel the election in Yankyland.

Is Paul Grod a Banker? If so, which bank?

One under strength battalion... look out world!

I hope you put them where there is no fighting taking place.
That's the purpose behind peacekeepers. Not only under strength but lightly armed as well. And the problem with UN peacekeeping missions is the idiotic ROE. One rule in particular states that you can't fire at anyone that isn't firing directly at you. And by you they mean you the individual, not the unit.

I say go to all of them.

Five possible UN missions for Canada

Research has shown that peacekeeping is the only valid military exercise left.
BWahahahahahahahaha. What research? From whom?

This is not the message I'm getting from troops (Canadian and American) texting home to their families. NATO and its allies are gearing up for an assault on Russia. Russia is warning its people of impending attack. As usual, governments are lying to us. Meanwhile y'all be arguing about the lies. They are slapping you with the left hand and .....

Somebody's lying, allright but it isn't likely our governments. If that were true, there would be major and mysterious movements of men, ships and aircraft in that direction and none of that is happening. You don't attack Russia with anything short of hundreds of thousands of men (think Desert Storm times three or four) partly, so that you can cover the battlefield losses from the use of field nuclear weapons.

No, Cliffy. You are hearing Russian propaganda that is being generated to justify biting off another piece of Ukraine .... maybe the whole country. I'm old enough, now, to have seen this from the Russians a few times before. It is a standard way of doing business in that place.

Are you in the Ukraine? Do you work on a military base that you can see who comes and goes? My sources are ex-military with strong ties to the present military. We'll see what happens.

EU Lies to Moscow: Official Reveals Sanctions Not Related to Ukraine Peace Deal

Tombinski's remarks, essentially revealing that EU sanctions against Russia might remain in place indefinitely, come at an unfortunate time for German Chancellor Angela Merkel. A day prior to his comments, Merkel reiterated to Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka the oft-used mantra that the EU's sanctions were directly connected to Moscow living up to its commitments under Minsk. Commenting on the apparent inconsistency between the talking points used by Brussels and Berlin, Azhdar Kurtov, a senior expert at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, told the Svobodnaya Pressa online paper that this not the first time Western leaders have effectively lied to Moscow about sanctions being connected to concrete actions. In fact, he suggested, it's become somewhat of a tradition. "It's worth recalling that during the Soviet period, there was a legislative amendment created by US congressmen which limited US trade with our country." Called the Jackson-Vanik Amendment and in 1974, "it was approved in connection with alleged Soviet violations of the rights of citizens of Jewish nationality." "This piece of legislation remained in force several decades after the legal basis itself disappeared," (and long after the Soviet Union itself ceased to exist). That law, Kurtov suggested, was never really connected to the persecution of Soviet Jews in the first place. Now, the situation surrounding the modern-day anti-Russian sanctions is much the same, the expert suggested. "We're seeing the same thing today. There is the formal aspect, linked to the fact that Russia is always being urged to 'fulfill its obligations', even though it is not even a subject to the Minsk agreements. But that's not the main issue: even sticking to formalities, it's necessary to read the text of these agreements. And that's something no one wants to do, apparently."

You're good for a Sunday morning chuckle Cliffy.

Not really possible that an active serviceman on deployment would be giving operational information to anyone. First it would endanger the mission and all the lives of other soldiers. Second if the command structure found out you get a tribunal and probably some jail time before being dishonourably discharged.

Watching Rambo and Blackhawk Down 3 times does not give you sources inside the military.

Unless you are a Bush or a Clinton then you get a raise and a lifelong position at tax-payer expense.

Most of the world is blind according to you and filled with groundless hatred.

It's not groundless, where there is smoke there is fire, it's just a matter of perspective.

Your perspective is suspect.

Well of course it is suspect, to you anyway.

Name one just war the USA has started, just one. There aren't any. Every oportunity to bomb and invade the weak for plunder has been taken these last seventy-five years. That particular period of history is over for ever.

Ah yes, the plunder and of course you have evidence to support this plunder claim.

Call me what you like. Your opinion doesn't matter to me. These countries were better off before the imperialistic aggression of the the USA destroyed their infrastructure and economy. It was never about freedom or dictators....it was about control of resources and maintaining the petro-dollar. I know the truth hurts sometimes but you'll just have to learn to live with it.

You require years of deprogramming.

On a lighter note, I wish you safe travels with your new boat.

DRaft dodgers and deserters from the 60s are not good sources of military secrets.

The Runner | The Runner - Understanding the Future of Peacekeeping with Harjit Sajjan

“It’s about making sure we have the right information so we can make an informed decision, because at the end of the day you’re sending your troops into harm’s way.” says Sajjan.

This mission is part of the Liberal Party’s efforts to make good on a campaign promise to restore Canada’s status as a leader in global peacekeeping, a status that they believe was diminished by the Harper government.

This is about the Prime Minister trying to whitewash that not only are we at war in Afghanistan and Syria, but in Iraq as well. It is all about optics and sucking up so he can try and secure a seat on the UN security council for Canada. When is the Prime Minister going to make good on his promise to get rid of lump sum payouts for wounded vets and restore pensions for life along with much needed medical support?

It's a disgrace. This country has taken good care of hundreds of thousands of WWII veterans for two thirds of a century. We can easily afford to care for the much smaller number of wounded veterans surviving the current conflicts. The world is very unstable, right now and there will be many more wounded Canadian young people to care for as time goes on .... whether the Liberals send them into "peacekeeping" or sonething hotter.
