Another fun fact. It is very simple to convert a semi automatic into a fully automatic.
For once I agree with Floss, civilians do not need semi automatic weapons or assault rifles. There are far too many weapons available in the US and it is obvious that they keep getting into the wrong hands. I have trained on and fired a wide array of weapons and I see no acceptable need for a civilian to have anything other than a rifle for hunting or a personal handgun for protection.
The argument for having these weapons is simply want not need.
But conversion is not what we're talking about and it's not the narrative being pushed by jumpy progs.
Rifles are NOT 'assault' weapons.
That is a political term.
You fire as fast as you can pull. Just like my old Ruger 10/22 with large magazine could.
Then we can all talk about magazine capacities again too. Ans 'assault knives' like that latest british snackbar killing the cop.
As for this particular massacre though:
You could have just used any firearm and hit people indiscriminately wearing a blindfold at that packed gay bar. Look at what Cho did at the Virginia Tech massacre. He chain-locked the exits in one of the buildings before he started shooting, trapping people inside and preventing people from escaping or cops coming in so he could hunt victims room to room.
Cho used a Glock 19 (9mm) and a Walther's P22 (.22 LR pistol), relatively weak firepower compared to a shot gun or a high velocity 5.56mm Nato round in a carbine length barrel.
There are many variables, the AR15 just isn't even responsible for 1 percentage as a cause of the 8000 or so firearms homicide in the country. More people are killed yearly by hands and feet as weapons than an AR15.
anyway, 'assault weapons'.
