To know how many are refusing to work the unemployment figure would have to become a negative number and it is anything but that. How about you get laid off and then answer the question

The part you would find impossible is replacing that job with another one, then you get classified as 'refusing to work'. That concept seems to not part of your thinking process. With a 10% unemployment rate you have 10% of the work force looking for jobs that are not there, that is not 'refusing to work' as you and others here try and promote.

In 2013 (link), there were 6.4 unemployed people for every available job. Those are good odds for someone that really wants to get a job. The number varies for each province. In Nova Scotia, there were 10 umemployed for every available job (still pretty good odds), and in Alberta there were 2.4 unemployed people for every available job ( that is awesome!)

Try getting the rate down to 0% and see how many young Canadians don't want to work at any job.

While I can appreciate the outcome that you would like to accomplish here, realistically, the rate will never be 0%, it has never been 0% during booming economies. Personally, I'm not sure we would want an economy where new positions can not be filled.

You aren't very good at math are you. 6.4 people chasing 1 job has you putting 5.4 people as not wanting to work becaise only 1 person who gets the job is the only one that really wants to work. The same applies to your other numbers also, 1.4 people in AB is deemed (by you) as not wanting to work because they didn't get the 1 job that was available.

I used 0% as the point at which you could begin to label people as not wanting to work. Perhaps you should look at Kuwait where the 'servants' are all imported from other nations simple because the citizens do not want to do that work and they can afford to turn it down as they get money from the gov, welfare for everybody for lack of a better term.
Perhaps the proposed income should be for Canadians with a Canadian birth certificate so people like Bloomer are disqualified as he is here through a marriage of convenience. (his own words in a post made some time ago)
